poor uke trope
Why is the poor woman/uke trope so common? i always found it uncomfortable but one of the things that made me feeling worse is the fact that everytime a k-drama/manwha uses this trope it's almost ALWAYS the person in the relationship which is perceived as more feminine, either being a woman or being a bottom (yes i know bottoms aren't always twinks, but even while being masculine they're still percieved as "the woman in the relationship" by a lot of people.) which maybe I'm too woke but it feels awfully misogynist and icky.
I know that this trope was used in Western media as well. Cinderella falls under that trope too, at least in my opinion, and maybe I'm not consuming enough west media to notice, but it feels way more common and popularized in korea. Is there a specific reason why poverty is so romanticized there, or just power unbalance in general?
no ur true for that and not "too woke". i hate this too, i js hate power imbalances in general honestly. the whole "masc">"fem" is reinforced so much. maybe people enjoy the FANTASY of a healthy power imbalance. ie. they like the possibility of someone having the power over them and still loving them and treating them as equals. it's a power fantas...... reply
