tell me why almost every sports anime has a hint of gayness in it
4 seasons of haikyuu and i could bet atleast 20 episodes had a lingering gayness to it, just watched ep 1 of kuroko basketball and mf says ''i will be the shadow to your light'', yuri on ice is just queerbait, sk8 is the gayest show i've watched all day, blue lock is just bdsm in disguise, free is so queer coded and is genuinely the most obvious bl bait i've witnessed lmfao, the only obvious sports anime without queer implications i've watched now is bluebox which is rlly good ngl
Is Yuri on Ice queerbait though? Or is it just a victim of censorship due to not wanting to offend the conservative Japanese audience? Jarvis, make me a 2-hour long video essay on this topic.

I am more passionate about it than actual gay manga, these people are together thick or thin 4 reply
yuri on ice is the farthest thing from queerbait??? they literally lock lips and wear matching rings. if that's queerbaiting then i dont know what isnt.
that said in some versions of YoI the kiss is censored because homophobia, so its kiiiiiinda a little more queerbaitey but not really at all 1 reply
Quoting Marilyn frye here:
To say that straight men are heterosexual is only to say that they engage in sex (fucking exclusively with the other sex, i.e., women). All or almost all of that which pertains to love, most straight men reserve exclusively for other men. The people whom they admire, respect, adore, revere, honor, whom they imitate, idol...... 1 reply
i saw somewhere in the interview mha's mangaka said they capitalize yaoi and bl its a well known industry secret since early on they caught on to fujos and realize they are a large market and roll with ti cuz it sells a lot of merch and always there cuz of shipping and shipping culture btw this sports and shonen genres across the board. cuz one way...... 4 reply
yeah well of course the sports romance anime about a girl and a guy isn't going to have queer implications. male team sports anime usually focus on bromance which is actually very prevalent in irl male team sports (observation from my high school days) and if they're not, then are are straight up gay (yuri on ice is NOT queerbait and run with the w...... reply
