Imo, a story tends to be actually bad at below 8 or 7. BUT I think you really just gotta read it for yourself. (I know that's not really a helpful answer ㅠㅠ) Because there's a lot of review bombing from people that disregarded the summary or don't like the genre but read it anyway. 8.0 isn't low for me. 9.5 above you're probably reading a manga/hwa with a pretty good overall plot and art style and it's well perceived by its readers
9.2 above its probably an okay story, isn't too unique but a fun read nevertheless

I dont even see the rating at all, just read base on the top comments (now gone) and the tags. I mean even fucking POTN had a 9+ rate, aint no way im trusting ratings lol reply
Someone’s trash is another man’s treasure and vice versa that’s why I read it the first few chapters if it’s interesting or not cause I’m not judging a story based on ratings most of the time reply
Ratings aren't really accurate (?). I just scroll down to the topics and there's always someone spoiling the plot, so I use that to see if I'd want to read the story lmao reply
when i see a low rating i usually check the albums first to see if the arts are to my taste, and then i check out the comments to see if there's any context on the lower rating. if there's no clear reasons i just read it first and figure out from there. so anyway, don't trust the ratings. 8.0 is not THAT low, but anything below that usually deserve...... reply
