In Thai, BL is considered a cash grab from the general public. The actors don’t have to act incredible to get in a project. They just kinda have to find their “partner” so a lot of ppl look down upon BL actors. Usually they get stereotyped as a bad actor which is true for a lot of projects. taiwanese BLs>korean BLs>japanese BLs>thai BLs. taiwan's BL game is really strong ngl. “we best love”,“your name engraved herein”,“love is science”(BL side couple) they're all peak!

And lately I have to search so much to find smth watchable and meaningful.

I actually like Thai BL a lot, contrary to my initial not so good impression of them, I gave them a go and I really liked it honestly.

If you think it’s cringe, try being Thai and actually understanding the dialogue. Sometimes they say total 'alpha male' nonsense that should only exist in written fiction, delivering it with the most serious tone imaginable despite the mediocre acting. The subtitles don't do justice to how painful it really is. I personally can't watch any of it ...... reply
Tbh it's hard to enjoy any types of romance movie/series for me, and that also aplies to Thai BL. It's just- I'm aware they're REAL person (not 2D like in anime, manga/hua/hwa), and I can't forget that fact. So the whole time I just "Uhh… that must be really awkward…", espesially during romantic scene.

Very cringe but that's the charm of it lol there were some good series in the sea of university/work place rich x poor tropes but most of it is exaggerated to up the entertainment.
