The One Manga/Hwa/Hua You Consider a Masterpiece
Can only be one. The one. That one story that you come back to every time cuz there's nothing else that can capture you like it did.
My masterpiece: "Freesia".
"Freesia" is a psychological dystopian seinen manga by Jiro Matsumoto. I've read it four times and ready to go for a fifth. The story captures me every time, it's gruesome and compelling in the best way, more so than some of the top titles in the seinen genre. I would not recommend it to people who are young or who struggle with violent imagery, which there is alot of.
(Content warning for those interested: rape/ SA and abuse, blood and gore, war, sexual imagery and nudity, mental trauma).
Heavenly Delusion/20th Century Boys definitely contend. But maybe I’d have to say Aniki no chuukoku or Taketora & the omegas for yaoi. Both are very complex and interesting.
For shonen, I’d have to say sentai Daishikkaku or AOT. reply
