you could honestly apply the same argument to BL transmigration stories where a gay mc enters a straight novel and the “straight” male lead suddenly falls for him. basically the same trope in reverse and it's meh

I've been saying this and people act like it isn't homophobia lol I could excuse the one where the guy go straight a little because it feels more natural they find out they can be gay but this??? It screams fetishism to the core. It's like those inserts of women in a BL. reply
It's the same reason why I don't read stories where a girl pretends to be a guy, ML comes to terms he might be gay blah blah blah then turns out it's a girl. Idk I guess I just don't get the point of those types of stories? Like, what did we achieve here except condoning a huge identity lie

Some fans try to push back by saying, “But there are BL manga where a supposedly straight character turns gay.” That’s not the same thing at all.
