You know, something I've thought about with the whole internet discourse around "what is good female character writing?" I've realized that if people really want to know they should look at all my childhood girl shows. Shows like Winx Club, Lolirock, W.I.T.C.H, Bratz, My Little Pony, Totally Spies, Monster High, Ever After High, Strawberry Shortcake, Star Darlings, Friends etc. The female characters in them were diverse, they were main characters, their own people, had adventures, significant roles, had arcs. If people were ever curious on how it could be done and whether it's been done before, they could just study and analyze my childhood girl shows. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
There's a shortage of shows targeted to a specific sex, unlike what we had before (like those you mentioned). Tho me and my bro liked different shows before we still tune in to watch the same stuff (if it's my turn we watch barbie, his turn we watch cars or play video games).
