Have y'all been baptized?
Ok so like a week ago I almost got baptized but didn't cuz I'm not ready yet and ik for a fact that if I do I'll stay the same anyways, the only reason why I almost got it is because my mom forced me but when we arrived at the place where we were gonna get baptized I change my mind and didn't get one. Now I have a question for the people here who got baptized what does it feel like? Did y'all really got closer to God or not?
Born and raised catholic, I was baptised as a baby and it's really got nothing to do with being closer to God in the personal, spiritual sense that you're thinking of.
I'll spare you the details since @yuki hime has already got it covered (not that ik much anyways lmao) but a fun fact is that catholic babies are encouraged to get them baptised ea...... reply
i considered myself as an agnostic (leaning to atheistic) now, however, i was born and raised in a family of Catholic. back then, i was young when i was baptized, younger than 10. if i’m right, it’s done twice—when you’re a baby and then the ‘final’ act of baptism, i guess.

well being baptised as a baby didn't do shit for me, i don't remember it and now i read pay gorn and love women. honestly i think my mum baptised me mostly so she could throw a christening party, and maybe that's why it didn't work out for me. reply
I got baptized Methodist at like 7-8 years old (even though I went to a Catholic school for some reason), and I think for me and my siblings it was just for us to join the church, and my grandpa probably pushed for it if I had to guess.
Most people get baptized to feel closer to their religion, but in the main Catholic religion, being baptized mea...... 1 reply
Yup. Mine was forced too. I only did it to please my mom. It was in a pool so it was wet and cold. And I relied a lot on saving face in front of my mom. I wasn't keen on it. I believe in God, but didn't think I needed to freeze. reply
Baptized as a baby, parents did it to me so I had no choice :) Being baptized thru your own volition now would depend on your personal relationship with your religion....so your Mom wanting it for you is ok but truly just take your time to see if it is something you truly want, would it mean anything to you etc....cool you are asking if anyone old...... reply
Don't know, I was a baby at the time. It's like a customary in our family to do it before turning 1yr old. It's one way to be closer to God, yes but there's still a lot after that, like communion and marriage or something. Am I closer to God rn? Yes reply
