I'm planning to write A03
So I'm planning write either fanfiction or original
Here the thing I'm never finished a full on page as full book before only comment. I don't have money either for beta readers, and I suck searching topic, like A03 author has full on Wikipedia information even not found in wiki, and I'm don't keep up with schedule (even though I have full on free time lol) Also I used to be good in English now I suck at it
Step 1: find ship you like (more motivation to write and easy topics)
Step 2: write a one shot (one shots are quick no commitment needed, make it 3k-4k words)
Step 3: tag the genres or TW (lots of tags)
Step 4: no beta? Don’t worry, slap a “no beta we die like men” tag on it
Step 5: click publish
step 6: GET KUDOS AND HITS 1 reply
No need to deep dive into theories and info unless you are planning to write a 50K chapter you could literally write anything. For eg., soulmate au, college au whatever gets you started once you start writing you get a feel of it anyways. And no need for beta most people don't got betas.

I’m a writer who’s posted fics on AO3. My first word of advice is to get a good understanding of grammar. Not enough people study writing style guides, and it shows (Chicago is my preference)
As for what to write, just pick a ship or a series you like. For example, MakoHaru from Free. Writing for a fandom helps you attract beta readers. I’v...... 1 reply
Paste/type your text onto rich text instead of HTML (button is top right from the text box) so your formatting doesn't get messed up. Be consistent, set a reminder, trick yourself with 'just 10 min of writing' or whatever works. Research usually isn't too important. Write what you like. Tropes/AUs help with coming up with ideas. Tag your work. Be k...... reply
For writing better english I'd recommend reading more fics and writing down their best lines. Also you don't have to be a linguistic genius to write a fic. Just keep your basic grammar correct. Write your fic in Google docs first. It will automatically correct some noticeable grammar mistakes. Like if you have troubles with prepositions, it will au...... 2 reply
Choose your fandom, read and comment on other fics too. Think about WHY you want to write. For me it was “I like this ship, but there’s no fics, so I’m going to write them”.
I don’t read/write on ao3 any more, but I was very involved in the Haikyuu fandom, and I offered beta reading to people before I got my own betas. Doing a bang help...... 1 reply
