Yaoi has become boring?
Am i the only one depriving away from yaoi? (Or have deprived away) Like i cannot stand most of them anymore due to supernatural bodies or like the art is sooo fake and the design of the characters are so weird looking. Most of the plots are just pound town atp.
Like i probably only read 4 yaois that genuinely have good plot and the art looks decent and pretty natural not only that but characters have reasonable personalities and the rest is just straight hisekai webtoons.
Like when i see a good manhwa on tiktok and find out thaf it’s yaoi i get disappointed so badly, trust me im not homophobic it’s just when i see yaoi i know straight up that it’s going to be a gooner story with no special plot.
I used to read 10 different yaois a day regardless of the trashy plot ….but now?… ig we all grow up and have a change of views. I just wanna know if there is anyone out there who feels the same.
I think social media is probably the worst place you could look for yaoi recommendations. Maybe you should try getting into Shounen Ai or try other different tropes within the genre! I recently read “ The 11th School Trip” which was quite interesting.

i feel the same, i'm usually very picky and it's not helping almost every yaoi these days have trashy plots and stiff art (ALOT of this in manhwas, the artist probably got bored of learning anatomy so it just looks really stiff and i can relate, anatomy sucks) so i moved to novels, it's good i like reading them but sometimes i just wanna look at ho...... 1 reply
I mostly read yaoi to talk about it with friend (and my ex girlfriend) so it being a bit trashy isn’t always bad to me, but branching out to other mediums and genres is helpful, bl VNs can be pretty interesting and diverse (some of them still suck) same with novels! reply

I'll get to the main point of this post in a second, but I'm mystified by the use of "deprived" here. like, I'm used to seeing it in sentences like "the captive was deprived of adequate food, water, and fresh air" or "neglectful parents deprived a child of an education", so I'm left wondering what the intended word is supposed to be here. op is fee...... reply
Maybe read an achillean novel? Could be a nice change if you still want queer stories, but you need a break from the art or the constant smut. I’d be happy to recommend some if anyone’s interested :)
But in general, it’s okay to take a break from a genre. I’m not only reading BL, and I think it’s for the best that people branch out anywa...... reply
