Unqualified for a job
I'm going to lose my shit. I'm a dental hygiene STUDENT currently working at a dental clinic where I mostly clean and sterilize the instruments because I have NO training to do anything else. Tell me why I'm on my way to have lunch and a dentist is like "Ever did a filling? No? Time to learn cause I don't have an assistant to help me this afternoon." I then spend the next 3 hours assisting this dentist when I'm not even an hygienist yet, let alone an assistant! I don't know the name of the instruments, I don't know the steps to do a filling and one of the clients has an intellectual disability and doesn't follow instructions. All that on an empty stomach. Worse part? I sure as hell don't get paid the salary of an assistant.
You ever been roped into doing a job you have no qualifications for? If so, how did it go? I need to feel better about my day
It was not to that extent, but i am now working as a neuropsychologist. Before that, during my last internship, i was trying to learn to do so many things I didn't have the chance to practice in previous internships.
