What’s your least favorite trope in BL?
My least favorite trope is when the ml only likes the mc because he was a reincarnation of a past lover, I dislike this trope because it feels like the ml only loves mc for who they were, not who they are. Also, it’s always the central plot and creates a lot of unnecessary conflict.
1) Mpreg.
2) “I’ve been in love with you since we were prepubescent kids”
3) one childhood best friend who happens to also be the next door neighbor being in love with their bff who is a total playboy that never thought about said bff as anything more until suddenly he realizes he’s been in love with bff all this time too.

Friends with benefits to lovers is also a really annoying trope. You can't tell me it isn't a form of lazy writing bc most of the time, it starts off with one of them, if not both, being already in love with the other. Shit doesn't feel earned ykwim?

I probably already said this, but when the mc and the ml are rivals or enemies but the ml is the only one who always has the upper hand and always knows what the mc is up to ahsjkfgk it's so frustrating especially when the mc claims to hate the ml but is constantly blushing and acting flustered like a dumbass sigh
