How far ur moral ground stand when you reading ???
We knew things like non-con, familial bond, blackmail, and so on is wrong if u talking about morals. On the other hand some people actually doesn't mind dark genre like that, and sometimes abuse and negligence often used as good material for a villain/mc flashback as reason to do smth good/bad. How far u can handle morally wrong act? Is there a line u set for urself like " I might can handle cheating, but rape is the line i wont tolerate " ?? Or as long as no one knew abt it, u keep it to urself of how far u can actually tolerate morally wrong read???
Id first look at the writer’s intent and background. Stories that involve morally wrong or disturbing topics aren’t automatically bad.
If the writer is just using them to push their own agenda, glorify harmful behaviour, or write whatever makes them personally comfortable without any meaningful purpose or reflection, then that’s where I stop...... 1 reply
As long as it doesn't trigger me, I'll read it.
And as long as it's well-written, I'll like it.
I don't know where this massive crackdown on everything even a little bit problematic started, but not every manhwa with rape/incest/whatever in it romanticizes it... ㅎㅅㅎ nor is everyone going to agree if they do or don't. reply
I draw the line at cheating/ntr, incest, shota, loli, toddlercon (yes this is a real thing eugh), gangrape, and things based off of real word history that are romanticized. (Slavery, nazi, etc.) I actually read a lot of dark/psychological BL but the content is handled as dark disturbing themes rather than something the story portrays positively. I ...... 1 reply
I can basically stomach everything, but in the end, it depends on how the writers handled the story. However, there a few things I tend not to read, but I think it may be more towards preference than moral ground (?). I put a hard line on pedophilia (which is reply
Controversial take but not everyone is fit to read dark genres. The reason is very simple- most of the people absorb what they read. Its not a sin, its a human thing. But if u absorb what u read from fucked up stories then it is really bad for u. Forget about the moral aspect of it for a second- it generally leaves a lasting impression on your mind...... reply
Pedophilia, rape, gangrape, incest, physical violence between a romantic couple, teacher x student relationships (unless it's set in college and MAYBE if the student is 18, if the story is engaging enough), I can stomach cheating if it features a girl cheating on her male partner with another girl otherwise I skip it, honestly I can drop anything a...... reply
Obvious ones like pedo and harm on a child/minor is the definitive line I will never cross.
The most red that I can tolerate and still enjoy is mind games and manipulation due to obsession or possessiveness. Those is okay, I can still enjoy the story. It is when it gets physical like rape/assault that I can no longer tolerate.
My tolerance is v...... reply
