Thoughts on religion?
This might not get srs responses but i was js curious of other ppls perspectives, i personally am slowly losing belief in my religion just because i think the only reason religion has grown to be a thing now is cus mpst of them was made in the olden days when nothing was rlly clear so now if someone were to spread those ideas or smth they'd be looked at funny, so what are your thoughts?(￣∇￣")
I find it bizarre that, in today’s world, despite widespread access to education, so many people still cling to beliefs that predate the medieval era. It’s wild that people hold on to the same beliefs as an illiterate medieval European peasant who also believed in dragons and werewolves.

I think for many people, their belief in god is linked to the fact that they simply want to believe there is a deeper meaning to our lives, that there is something after death and that we don’t just cease to exist. Jk but not really. Its done many things I'll give it that. It soothes people, hurts them. It starts wars, inspires peace. It motivates inventions but also hinders progress. I doubt we have anything with more duality. All that said, it's mid. reply
in my humble opinion, religion is a form of coping mechanism and human simply need some reason, something thats bigger than anything in the world, something non human that rules above us all and that there's afterlife, a good place that will be our reward if we preserve cause the world is just a shitty unfair place and it would be really dreadful ...... reply
I’m neutral about it, I’m personally not religious but I think it’s nice people have faith/beliefs. Sometimes when I’m in a bad situation I pray to all the gods (it’s more efficient apparently), doesn’t really work though. I can understand how believing in a higher order could provide someone with comfort and direction in life, but i think all religions are inherently flawed since their history is written by mankind, more specifically MEN, it can be oppressive and overly rigid. i don't believe in it. im atheist agnostic. tho i struggle alot bc i used to be kinda religious but it's so misogynist i have lost all faith. religion sounds BS to me now. but it's hard to let go of the fear.

I believe it's a tool meant to encourage humans to do good. It's intended as a guideline. But if someone can be a good person without fearing hell or heaven, I don't see any problem with that.
