What would you do if the author of your fav story removed their story from all illegal sites?
And they threaten to take legal action if they find their work is being pirated somewhere?
I had a fav BL where the author demanded the uploaders to remove the uploads from the piracy site I was reading the BL on, and since I liked the story and didn't want the author of my fav story feeling disrespected and upset over something they clearly expressed they don't like happening, I just accepted that I wouldn't be able to read it on that site anymore. I didn't want to hold any ill-feelings towards the author and them trying to protect their work. And if they purged it from all piracy sites I'd just accept I wouldn't be able to read one of my fav BL until I can finally have the ability to access it legally.
What would you guy's do if the author of your fav works didn't like their works being pirated, and took it down from the piracy sites you use and many more?
It's the owner's right to do it, but it doesn't stop the piracy updates on so many illegal websites. Not all of them would be taken down, I have no say on the owner's decision because the work is theirs not mine and considering I read on a illegal web (Guilty).
Of course, i would be sad to have my fav bl be taken down reply
They’ve been trying to take down illegal sites for many years so I don’t think it’s possible even if what if. New illegal websites will pop so.
Banana scandals and Mad place isn’t here so I go to find any website that has it. That’s the Ninja Way. I mean the Pirate way. reply
I already buy the stories that aren't being uploaded in English, so I would just buy and MTL the raws. If that wasn't possible I would just get over it because I'm way too used to my favorite stories being randomly discontinued by authors reply
For me, it depends on whether it's manga or manhwa. Manga subscriptions are usually affordable and give you access to tons of series. Manhwa on the other hand makes you pay PER chapter, PER comic, and most of them get dragged out to 200+ chapters just to end badly. I've also seen a LOT of racism coming from korean and chinese manhwa/manhua authors ...... reply
To be honest, when this happened with Banana Scandal a few years ago, I felt ashamed at first. Realizing that I had been consuming someone's hard work through illegal ways, and that the creators actually noticed it, made me feel guilty.
After that, I started to understand and sympathize with them. It also made me question whether I was contributin...... reply
