Lonely, my priorities are out of order
I know it’s cringe to post this but idk where else I can ask for advice. I would prefer advice from someone in their 20s. :
I’m so used to consuming all this media (shoujo, josei, yaoi, basically any kind of romance/intimacy) to cope with the fact that I’ve never been liked/wanted irl. I’ve lately been trying to stay off this site so I can be more productive. And the worst part is this shouldn’t even be my top concern bc I still gotta learn how to drive, prepare for grad school, work hard at my job but I just don’t. I don’t have the drive. I just feel what’s the point of life if I’m never special to someone. I also have no friends. I just have trouble getting along with people. Convos with ppl online feel bland (usually I’m the one asking questions and it’s more they just answer me) and no one anyways cares like they don’t text first ever and irl people don’t like me bc I have social anxiety so I’m serious/awkward/quiet. I’m just down about life. I got no personality too like no hobbies bc I’m always stressed and heck even food doesn’t make me happy ever. I’m 23 and I’ve never ever been romantically liked by someone (someone did approach me once and we just talked for a while but I didn’t know his intentions until he asked what are we and I rejected him and he admitted he asked me bc he was lonely + he apparently was talking to other people and another time a guy approached me with a pickup line but it was really unnerving bc he was scrutinizing my face even my side profile). I see others my age in relationships (and I’ve seen others clearly have someone interested in them like people were flirty or always trying to talk to them/be near them) and some are in serious relationships like they wanna eventually marry each other. I’m also really sad about my looks like I feel the only way to be “chosen” I guess by a guy is to be goodlooking and sure maybe I could find someone who would think “ok you don’t look terrible I don’t mind dating” but usually it’s being goodlooking that makes guys think of the relationship as serious/long-term and they’re just far more interested. Yes I shouldn’t center my life around male validation and I sound very immature. But I wish someone would be excited talking to me.
I really relate to a lot of what you wrote. I've honestly never been that interested in romance for myself, but I'd be lying if I said it never gets lonely seeing people my age in relationships. It can make you feel like you're missing out or somehow behind, even when you know everyone moves through life differently.
From what you wrote, though, i...... reply
