I need help
So , I'm having a problem with a lot of people on the internet , i'm still learning English , as you can see, I'm not that good, but this is not the problem. In a lot of times people say that i was so rude , so robotic .... But i didn't mean to, i wrote that comment with a smile on my face , i don't know what emoji i have to use.
A lot of times people will add a :) or or or even a to the end of comments. It’s really hard to convey tone or intention through text and comments, so adding a smile at the end helps. I usually avoid using periods because people somehow deem them as serious and mad lol, I instead use !! Or ,,
I use !! To convey excitement, happiness, or good news for example:
"I saw you on at the buss station !!"
Seems more happy and positive than:
"I saw you at the bus station."
For ,, I use to to convey confusion or unsureness! It's like ...... 1 reply
Punctuation when texting can be pretty difficult if you don’t know how to do it right.
For me, I tend to add different punctuation marks at the end of my sentences and emojis too- these help soften your sentences and make them seem less stern.
( P.S.- Until you get the hang of how locals use emojis, it might be better to use these text emojis...... 3 reply
