Genuinely why are self harm victims so disrespected by people
I've noticed this alot, especially people making memes about how self harm victims in discord used to seek attention like it's supposed to be funny. They always make them out to be creepy and crazy people who cut themselves for fun.... Everyone is okay with trauma until it's self harm like so many people shame us for having scars and it's so disrespectful tbh.
I personally had a really bad experience with a S/H victim that WOULD use his wounds to threaten me into doing what he wanted. does this mean I should view other victims this way? of course not. I understand that it's hard to overcome these experiences, maybe I understand that more than most people because I came in contact with it first-hand, but ...... 2 reply
