Genuinely how do you guys motivate yourself to live
Guys, genuine question. How do you keep going in life? I want to hear from the depressed people or someone who got out of it. Everything fucking sucks lately, I'm a hot mess and I'm fully aware of it, but I don't take steps to improve my situation. I'm always hanging on by a thread and no matter how much I clean my room or shower myself and get shit done, THAT feeling is still there. It's like I permanently can't get rid of it. I started feeling this way during the pandemic lockdown (if that's even relevant) and hasn't been the same ever since. It's like no matter how much time I spend on romanticizing my life, buying cute shit and everything, nothing happens. I'm still the same old mess.
I genuinely don't know what to do with my life anymore. I do want to get into therapy, but that'd be just another financial burden on my parents since I don't have a job to fund my own needs yet. I'm genuinely trying everyday, I'm not like those textbook depressed people who refuses to clean — I ALWAYS clean and I still feel like shit. Nobody sees anything wrong with me because I'm apparently functioning “normally”
I have no other people to talk about this to, so I'm just venting here. I'm so jealous of people who has someone close they can talk to about their problems. But I don't, so I'm leaving it here.
I just wish I can get better, someday. If I don't kill myself, that is. I have hopes and dreams too, but it's starting to get all blurry when all I have in mind is how shitty I feel every single day, it feels endless. I genuinely don't know if there's even a point anymore.
honestly the feeling your feeling wil probably never change, u may even need medical help to feel more woth or happy, and its said the best thing is the constanly be busy, if its work, taking walks outisde house chores school homework friends cooking trying new things art crafts maybe try random religion, there isn't much more to it besides live. ...... 2 reply
I joined in the military.
It was constant pain and agony. Most of my traumatic experiences have been blocked by my memory.
I was molested and constantly getting bullied and targeted. Whether I was short, dark skinned or fat. It doesn't matter.
I was crying everyday. I had anxiety disorder that made me constantly jumped at every sound. I canno...... reply
I felt like this many many times but I won't consider that depression. If you're feeling like this I can suggest you to try some things that are intense, like pick up a hobby , something that is not very easy to do and there's so many options to pick like hiking, painting, crocheting, any sports , research stuff etc etc. Idk who you are or anythin...... 2 reply
I have been feeling the exact same way for a while now. Masking it with cleanliness helps people not worry about you. People who don’t experience depression only have one type that they picture - it’s often a caricature that they picked up from some movie. The worst part is is that somehow being clean and keeping a job means that you have no ri...... reply
Well I genuinely don't have the kind of positive words one might need to hear regarding this situation, I never found it helpful and I don't think it's as effective.
What I do know is that I have loved ones, people I have talked to, considered getting better, but I've been in this hell for 8 years now. I've tried killing myself, I have gotten add...... 1 reply
I think what kept me going was the responsibility I put on myself to protect those around me, in a way. It's hard for me to find meaningful connections with people around me like my friends and such, the only person I've ever been able to bond with and be attached to is my partner,
Im not even going to sugarcoat it, I do feel like I surround mysel...... reply
Meds and therapy pretty much made me stop constantly asking myself "what's the reason for leaving" and "nothing matters" and now I just live.
My support groups and passion for things are the foundation, and the meds just make it so the anxiety and depression don't weigh me down. I'm not living like a rockstar or anything and I still get nervous, ...... reply
How do I keep on living in life? Perhaps, it’s because I finally accepted that no one is my friend except myself. The way you feel? I used to feel that way. I used to think ‘Why I feel that way? Why no one understands that i am suffering too? What’s the point of it all? Maybe i should just left everyone behind.’ Then one day, i had a huge f...... reply
Honestly i tell myself that i won't be able to know the ending of my favorite webtoons and series or that if i die i'll be lonely for a longggg while before my friends/siblings join me ,and that would genuinely be horrible reply
