How to report abuse?

LA0R0O LA0R0O 2026-08-30 20:59:11 About question
The new apartment i live in is very close to another building, I keep hearing crying and screams and its literally so terrifying the sounds break my heart. I believe the abuse is happening from both parents, I asked my neighbours about it and they told me the mum hits her daughter because she gets really bad marks, but i also literally just heard the father hitting her and saying that he will hang her up and celebrate her death.

Im genuinely so scared for the girl, my neighbour told me she's 17 years old she's almost an adult, I looked up who I can contact but im still not sure since this is a first for me, any tips on how should I do this or if there's like steps?? I also feel like keeping my identity anonymous is better because that dude is genuinely a maniac and I dont doubt he'd try to kill me if he knows i reported him, is that possible?

I think you should report them before you see the dead body getting out of that house

Im not sure if this helps but you can call CPS or the police. The evidence will/might help and then just continue from then on. If possible, could you update me on the situation? I know it sounds insensitive but im really worried about the girl‘s safety and it would keep me up at night, not knowing wether she‘s safe or not, i hope this helps just a bit

im just sharing this because it might help idk, but my ex best friend used to go thru physical and emotional abuse from her mom. her very first boyfriend called CPS on her mom bc he thought he was doing the right thing but he wasn’t. she had plans to move out of her house once she turned 18, and he almost ruined everything.

if you can, talk to their daughter before contacting the police or cps. i’m not saying wanting to help her is a bad thing but you don’t know her situation and you might worsen everything.

She studies in the school i teach kids in, I thought about talking to her but I just dont want to like make her embarrassed or cause her to relapse and refuse anything I say

I also asked my boyfriend about it and I told him im also worried thst even if the dad gets arrested, if she stays with her mum or relatives im scared theyre gonna do something to her or make her to be the villain, I'm just new to all this because its my first time having this situation first hand (since I was a victim of extreme physical and emotional abuse that was never helped)

yeah i get that, it’s not a hard decision. i still think u should try to talk to her as much as possible. if the police doesn’t think your proofs are enough, they will send her back home, it could be life threatening for her.

be careful

I've recorded her voice multiple times becsuse I thought it'd be helpful at any moment, I have around 5 videos and its all her crying in pain and you can literally hear things being thrown on her and belts being cut from the amount of hits. It literally made me so repulsive and im not someone who gets sick so easily.
