How do you guys get over an ex?

I miss mines so much, but they broke off contact cause they said we were ex’s for a reason and cause they thought I was going to ask to be in a relationship eventually. I haven’t missed someone this much and I don’t know if I’ll be able to love someone like I love them. I did almost everything with them to so nothing feels special anymore. My friends think I’m stupid to still be in love with them cause it’s been months since i last talked to them, and cause they threatened to dox me and made fun of my past suicide attempt when we were ex’s, but I truly think we were made for each other or that they were made for me. I don’t think I’ll find anyone better than them, but they want nothing to do with me. If you guys got over an ex, how did you guys do it and how long did it take for you guys?
