Update on the abused neighbour

LA0R0O LA0R0O 2026-09-05 13:53:38 About question
The last couple of days I've been trying to reach out to teachers and ask about the girl I've been hearing all night screaming. But I realized that my neighbourhood gave me wrong information a few days later because when I checked again, most other neighbours said she attends another school (private one at that), meaning that I can't contact the girl apparently. But I also tried looking into child abuse and threatening laws where I live and that opened my eye to how fucked up the system is. Apparently, even if the dad almost killed his daughter, officers can only make him sign a pledge (?) To not do that again, there's nothing I found about repeating the act after signing the pledge so that made me really upset.

I dont know what I should do anymore I dont want to stand aside and act clueless when I hear the girl (and her little siblings at times) get hit and threatened with strangling. The laws aren't going to protect her and I cant speak to her, hes never out of her house to my knowledge too.

The only lead I could find is a counselor at her school, I actually am still in shock (and a bit in awe?) About that but her counselor was my art teacher when I was only 9 years old. I definitely dont have her contact info and I dont know if she remembers who I even am but I'm hesitant to approach her with this situation. Shes a really sweet person from what I remember but I dont know what my next move should br

try to record the noises and screams, it should be enough of a proof to start an investigation

I have proof, but upon further reading, apparently the officers could deny my proof and inform the dad who can sue me for recording without permission. I dont even have their faces/house recorded, its just their voices echoing my room
