High key having a really bad panic attack i just need to distract myself so I will talk about bears. I wrote this draft a long time ago but I'm posting it now

⟡ ˙ BROWN BEARS ⋆

“ Brown bears are the most widely known species of bears. Many think that grizzlies is a species itself, but the truth is that grizzlies is a sub-species of brown bears. The family of brown bears includes Grizzlies, Kodiak bears, Siberian browns and more ! ₊⊹ ”

“ Brown bears are physically bulky, they can be up to 5-10 FT long, and they weigh 1,500 LBs on average ! Many people think that Brown bears are strictly carnivore animals due to their size, but brown bears are generalists, meaning that they eat anything that they find. their diet is dominated by plants, nuts and berries with a small percentage of smaller mammals and carrion ‧₊˚ ⋅ ”

˗ˏˋ » FEATURES ! ˎˊ˗

“ Brown bears have a prominent shoulder hump, this hump is formed out of pure muscle as they age into adulthood, they use this hump of theirs to help digging, swiping and lifting. this is one of the key features to differentiate brown bears from different species. ⋆˙⟡ ”

“ A Brown bear's paw is large, on average, it can reach to 13 inches across, accompanied with 2-4 inches long claws, used for tearing trees down and digging dens. it's worth mentioning that these claws are in fact unretractable. and they get sharper the healthier the bear is. ⊹₊ ”

“ A bear's sense of smell is **2,100** times strong than a human's. their nose's main job is track down carrion and berries. Brown bears are energy savers, meaning that they rather eat -already- dead prey than having to hunt. they also use their sense of smell to sniff out any intruders, as bears are very territorial mammals.˚。⋆”

“ Even though Brown bears are usually expected to be -as the name suggests- brown, they actually come in a huge variety of coats, some are even blond ! though most of the time, brown bears will have a cinnamon - chocolate - dark brown coat, there is even a silver-like coat with grey tips. ⋅˚₊‧ ”

⭒˗ˏˋ BEHAVIOR ˎˊ˗⭒

“ Brown bears have been observed for a long time, They've been recorded as one of the most intelligent animals due to their memory. Many Brown bears are able to find the __same__ berry patch after years of leaving it, scientists have even noticed that Brown bears will stash their food in a certain spot, and come for it after years when they experience loss of food, this stash of food is believed to be what we call an "emergency patch" !! ⋆˚ ”

“ Bears have even used tools many times ! they are capable of using sticks to get fruit that grows on high trees, and even use rocks to break ice or manipulate objects. Brown bears look for specific shaped logs suitable for scratching their backs, as well as find rocks that can sharpen their claws.⋆˚ ”

“ Brown bears engage in an activity known as ⌞Hierarchical fishing⌝ ! This means that at bear gatherings near salmon streams, Bears form a social hierarchy. Larger and Older bears get the best spots where a lot of salmon swim, while younger, and naiver bears wait for their turn downstream. ゚。 ⋆ ”

⋆˚ ADAPTATION ˚⋆

“ Brown bears can live in a wide variety of climates. sub-species are scattered among the map. From the freezing tundra in Siberia and Russia, to high mountain forests in America and Europe, and even the Cental Asian deserts ! ”

“ as said before, Brown bears can use tools! many have been observed __learning__ and adapting to humans, in Alaska, it's quite popular to get your car opened by a bear. Bears have learned how to pull car handles, Break into locked containers, play with zippers and latches. some have been seen **intentionally** avoiding cameras and traps ! ₊˚⊹ ”

・°˖ SURVIVAL ˖°・

“ Brown bears, are the only bear species alongside American black bears that hibernates. Even their "hibernation" isn't truly one, what Bears go through is actually called ⌞Torpor⌝ ! it's a deep-sleep like state where they don’t eat, drink, urinate, or defecate for up to **7 months**. ✮⋆˙ ”

“ During Torpor, the bear’s body converts urea into protein, preventing muscle breakdown. Scientists study this for space travel and medical recovery !! Bears will barely store any food like you see in movies. Instead, bears actually eat throughout the year and save their energy, that's why they prefer to eat carrion, as it's more energy saving. as winter gets closer, you might notice Bears becoming **aggressive**, That's due to getting desperate, some bears cannot find enough food in 5 months, and will resort to hunting bigger mammals trying to survive winter! ⋆˚₊ ”

“ Unlike most mammals, that have a prominent choice of dens, Bears enjoy finding intriguing spaces to den. A variety of dens are dug into hillsides, under roots, in caves, or ever under snowbanks !! Female bears are known for using their dens frequently, especially mother bears during pregnancy. __In fact__, most mother bears give birth while hibernating ! . ˖ ”

“ Brown bears __can__ get pregnant by choice ! You heard me right. After mating season in summer, there's a very high chance that the fertilized egg doesn't implant. that is because it won't unless the mother bear gains enough fat by fall, and this is why most mother bears give birth during hibernation. ⋆.˚ ”
