Texting rule

I'm a 1:1 texter. I start a conversation, the other person starts a conversation. If you're not going to make the effort, neither am I. When I'm in a situationship, that's what I use to tell if the other person is as intrested as I am. This time it's a bit different though, because I started texting this guy to be friends. We get along really well and he was the one who said we should see each other irl first (in a few days). But the man will not text first!! I feel so clingy so I at least let a day or two go by before sending another text. It doesn't help that I might have a little bit of a crush on him... should I bring it up irl? I don't want to sound like a clingy gf but even friendship goes both ways
