P0rn Addiction
To people who have overcome p0rn addiction, how did you do it? I'm barely an adult and I was exposed to p0rn when I was 9 years old, I started reading bl p0rn when I turn 13 and until now I haven't overcome it. I couldn't talk about this to my parents because they are the reason why I have this in first place. I was 7 when I started to notice them doing something in the middle of the night, the bed is moving and I hear them whispering, after months of them doing it next to me I did think of confronting them but every single time I couldn't move. I froze until they are done, I was really confused that time and wanted to ask them "why" I hated myself of how I romanticize r@pe, my young mind made scenarios of me being forced to s3x, my intrusive thoughts is making me watch p0rn and regret it afterwards. I can't tell anyone in my family about this, I know too well how they don't really take mental health seriously because one time I cried so much in front of them but my own father just made the situation all about himself "if I were you" or "back in my days" then he's wondering why am I not smiling when I'm with him. I just want to make this addiction go away even if a little bit, I've enough of feeling ashamed in my whole life. Reading is my only way to escape reality. People who did therapy, what did they say to overcome this? Or people who helped themselves to get rid of their own p0rn addiction, how did you all do it?
I had a friend in middle school whose dad would watch porn super loudly whenever she was at his house. It’s so disgusting what adults will do when there are children present. That really messed her up and, while we’re not friends anymore, I really wish I had done something to help her. Anyways, I haven’t gone thru this exact thing personally,...... 1 reply
