Is it just me or do you guys think too that there's lack of creative storytelling in yaoi nowadays. It might also be just me because I've been reading since 2018, so I can no longer find anything new, everything is predictable and a copy paste of the most popular slop. It's because the popularity yaoi gained was solely because of the sex scenes. The fetishism yaoi got as it gains popular is insane that companies such as Lezhin, Bomtoon, and the likes of them make it as a way to gain money and we're actually losing the point of why creative storytelling matters more than the sex appeal of a story's character. Same to be honest :( everytime I start a new one I lose interest pretty quickly since you can already predict how things are gonna go. Most of the best BLs I've read are the ones with little smut (like reunion) to none at all (like curveball and splitter). I think the only yaoi that's got me superhooked is shutline. I want to read stigmata too sinc...... reply
Lowkey agree,90% of yaoi’s are the exact same plot,it’s either the bottom being raped by multiple men,love triangles which are just trash in themselves or omegaverse which are also trash atm poor omega x rich alpha boringggggg.
