What's your stance on Death of the Author?
The "Death of the Author" is a literary concept stating that an author's personal life, beliefs, and intended meaning should not control how a text is interpreted by French theorist Roland Barthes in his 1967 essay, the theory argues that once a work is published, it belongs entirely to the reader.
I'm a layman at this but I have encountered this theory roughly before though i don't know about this topic much. I agree with it not because the author isn't important or relevant to understanding a text but because author's intentions ≠ meaning.
