spooky season - horror movie recs please
i like the quiet creepy. like there's a thing in the background that gets closer w each blink, or is still and u catch it on the second watch. i like jump scares too but one every 20 minutes lessens the scare. i dislike torture porn. nothing with animals being harmed and no SA please.
i liked the haunting? of? bly manor (or hill house)? i forgot which one i liked. unusual horror is nice. i very very rarely get scared so i'm open to anything in any language.
if u want to drop ur favs please do so w any of the cw's listed above
i'll give some recs: coraline (low on the horror but that creepiness is there), conjuring, his house, smile 2, talk to me, midsommar, the sixth sense, case 39, incantation, the audition, no one gets out alive, and don't breathe
what I can think of at the moment:
Jacob's Ladder; Cure; Pulse; Skinamarink; Kwaidan; Onibaba; Eraserhead; The Thing
they were interesting at least for me; if they're not scary for you it's alright but eh whatever lol reply
if you're at all keen on pov/found footage horror ive had a good time with REC (2007), and recently really enjoyed Creep (2014) but that one is literally a cult classic so obviously.
Personally I think creepy season is the best time for slasher vibes, and although not really a horror, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma (2026) is a really really ...... reply
as a basic bitch, my go to is conjuring movies then hereditary, as above so below, paranormal activity, tale of two sisters, conjiam: hunted asylum, then the call (not really spooky but really good plot). i‘ve been wanting to watch exhuma but idk muck abt it reply
thank you for all the recs!!! i'll check each one.
will say i'm 2/3 through one rec (won't say which and flame the kind recommender) and it isn't scary at all and bordering on boring i forgot some ppl get scared over nothing i can only blame myself by giving some recs bc most of those are not scary either i just want to feel fear through fictio...... reply
