Cornell Rape Case
For those who don’t know, in September 2026 a former student of Cornell university filed a lawsuit as Jane Doe saying she was drugged with alcohol, marijuana and ketamine and gang raped at the Chi Phi fraternity house on October 2024 when she was 20. 7 male students raped her for 7 hours and other 50+ men in a groupchat knew about this and did/said nothing. At the time she reported it to the Cornell university police a few weeks after it happened but no criminal charges were filed at the time. Now the case has been reopened and it gained massive attention thanks to the hashtag #iamjanedoe. Guess what? The university decided that an “educational” essay was the adequate punishment for these seven guys involved. A fucking essay. What are yall’s thoughts on this?
The overwhelming public consensus is that the university's handling of the case and the initial lack of criminal charges were severely inadequate.
