its almost like every time i see a bl (its always bl) that has rape in it, a regular person would say smth like "why is there rape," "seme is a horrible person," someone will always reply and say "its just fiction." i need these people to realize the author thought this out, fantasized rape in their head, and decided that their character deserves to go through something like that. personally, i cant even make myself imagine someone getting raped let alone reading it and defending it. its just that horrible. i dont understand how people can genuinely look at a piece of fiction that contains the uke being kidnapped, confined, raped, abused, and think, "its fine because its not real." a VERY REAL person made it.
When you say, “It’s fine, it’s fiction,” you shut down critical thinking and close the door to valid literary critique.
When you read, you should ask questions like:
1. How does the author frame rape, non-con, abuse, and murder? Are these acts condemned, normalized, justified, or presented as morally ambiguous?
