I've had many unpopular opinions on manga's, mostly yaoi. i read yaoi, yuri, romance, fantasy, ect. but the fans for yaoi manga are suuper protective and defensive of their manga's. i can almost guarantee you'll get yelled at in the comments for having an "unpopular opinion". would love to know your unpopular opinion on certain manga's of any genre...... 18 reply
I realize that i have many "unpopular opinions" and that i love ranting and discussing them with people. im thinking of starting a line chat where i can discuss my opinions without fangirls yelling at me in the comments. other people can also share their opinions and this would allow everyone to read new manga and perhaps debate with each other for fun. would anyone be interested in joining? of course only civil discussions would be allowed, and the purpose would be to make friends and see things from a different POV. i believe everyone can be criticized, and no artist/author is perfect, including me. if you are interested, please let me know or leave your line ID!
Japanese manga no question!! I read almost all of the webtoons and manwha's here but I noticed the Kdrama vibes and the stories were came from hetero stories recycled to become Bl. There's a reason why I hate kdrama. I feel the kdrama vibes from the webtoons here and It's just a turn off for me. I read about a manga with a monk,a barber,a chef,a co...... reply

Manga, hand down.
Manhwa are SOOO dramatic, drawn out. Characters ARE NOT more mature.
Why do we need this useless drama? Why do we aboslutely need an EVIL character?
Why is this so stupid? Why does one of the character must be rich while the other is poor? What's the obsession with that shit? Why must the characters look like straight porn actors ...... reply
Complex (Yaoi), the art was meh, but the story was great and completely hit me in the feels! I don't cry easily so I think this and Let Dai (beautiful art, heart breaking story!) might be the only Mangas I've ever cried to while reading. reply
Disclaimer: this is my personal opinion and might be offensive to those who like Korean webtoons. So if you're easily triggered, just skip over this. Also this is LONG.
I like Japanese mangas hands down.
First and foremost, I like all comics regardless of where and what format they come from/in. Manhwa, webtoons, mangas etc.
Second, I have to agre...... 4 reply
Honestly, I prefer Korean webtoons because of the sheer fact that they're more realistic a majority of the time. I'm a gay dude so I read a lot of yaoi/shonen-ai, and the Japanese versions tend to have the stereotypical smaller ultra feminine bottom and it's really annoying. In Korean webtoons, nothing's really the same, and there's a TON more dive...... 2 reply
I perfer Korean webtoons they're easier for me to read. As they are in color (to tell charaters apart) and i perfer the story lines more....now I know that sounds weird but I feel the story lines impact my emotions more. reply
Itou-san and it's prequel made me cry so much because of how both the seme and the uke went through so many hardships (in their own pasts and after meeting each other) before they could finally be together.
But overall it was one of the best mangas I've ever read (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
And yeah I also cried when I read Koe No Katachi cuz it's the s...... 4 reply
I like them both, but if i really have to pick one, i would prefer manga. I agreed with you about korean webtoon last for a longer time, but i think 1 chapter of manga can pack much more story than 5 chapter of webtoon because webtoon have so many blank space between each panel. But still, i like them both, and in the end it's all depend on the plo...... reply
Generally Japanese manga is definitely the best. But it's mostly due to Japanese manga having a bigger supply. There's just sooo many manga out there to read. Webtoons are really pleasant to read though, especially since it's usually fully colored. I also like how the mood is really easy to control and there are a lot of things you can do in webtoo...... reply
Recently I’m more into Korean web toons some have beautiful art and good story and development, and they don’t seem that cliche like many Japanese, but something I don’t understand in Korean manga is that many secondary characters or extras are total jerks, why? Is that a reflex of society or just a cheap plot device? Anyway both have their g...... reply
I initially disliked manhwas because of the only manhwas I could read at the time were written by Han Yu Rang. They often start with a great concept but, when the climax seems to have already been reached; another conflict arises. Everything just dragged and I couldn't bring myself to finish them. BUT the recent manhwas are really good. Especially ...... reply
I used to only read Japanese manga but nowadays I tend to only read Korean webtoons for all the same reasons that you've mentioned. I read hundreds of Japanese BL manga in the past and now I don't read any at all because I find Korean/Chinese BL webtoons to be more fun and also lengthy. I like long series the most. I still read non-BL manga, though...... reply
I perfer Japanese. The art is (most of the time) cleaner. They have an editor so it feels more put together. Most of the time, it doesn't go on forever. With webtoon most don't have someone who tells them to move on from a scene, or how to rearrange a scene so it feels smoother. I personally dislike with I'm reading a webtoon, and realize that the ...... 1 reply
I like the Japanese manga more because I can read them and they have better character and seem real to me. Korean manga are good some of them, but the art is not very good for a lot. The Korean ones harder to understand and bore to me. Japanese manga I like more. Thank you for reading my post. 1 reply
