One of the first books my sister introduced to me and made me an avid reader of manga. I will forever remember the happiness, the sadness, the funny times, the bittersweet moments, and the numerous tears I've shed while reading it. The story is about a regular high school student that meets a strange boy called Gash Bell, and he can read the a strange magical book?! They're involved in a battle to become the next demon king!
This manga series was very famous. The story was about a girl who got involved with a family strongly associated with the Chinese zodiac animals... literally...
I've only read this one. I haven't read City Hunter. But I found the story fun and exciting. Do keep in mind it does take place in an alternate universe. The story starts from the view of a young woman - an assassin, who wants to leave said world- and she wants to find a place where she belongs. Also she got a heart transplant after her suicide attempt.
NGL, I preferred this story over Chacha... (pls don't hate me! *cries*) This manga is very cute - a romance between a very weak female hero and a very attractive, hot, and strong demon king. The story continues in "My Dear"
I first got into this one because of the stunning art style. This is one of the first moments in which I read a manga where it was a Demon King that fell in love with the Human Hero (Yuusha). I'd say that the concept was pretty OG at the time this was written. Nowadays, it's everywhere.
This is also quite famous and is acclaimed (at the time) to be an incredilble suspenseful/horror/psychological storyline.
What would you do if you picked up a notebook that killed anyone whose name you jotted down? Well, Light Yagami, a genius who is bored of life decides to kill all the bad people and purge the world of evil! He tries to escape the attention of the police and it's very exciting! Lots of thrills!
One of my first introductions towards a smutty/ecchi style of manga. It's very much a dumb but cute female character but this was common back in the day. It does involve beast/supernatural creatures as well. If you know Rosario + Vampire, it's similar to that.
Oof another drama packed story. A lot of heartache and tears involved in this story as well. Misunderstandings, possessiveness, overdose on power, supernatural/celestial beings- it's packing of a lot of elements and delves into a lot of complex emotions and stories. A brilliant story.
This story is more of a sci-fi-/supernatural element. A boy meets a girl, a girl meets a boy story, but a lot of death, relationships, and emotions get mixed in as well.

Gegege no kitarou?
Added to the list! Gonna read to remember what this manga was about soon.
Apologies to anyone who sees changes in this time and time again. I am very slowly adding in updates and adding in more stories in here for anyone who might be interested in reading more nostalgic, older series of manga. Please let me know if there's any mangas I forgot to add in, and please enjoy!
