Same I dunno maybe it has to do with type? I prefer the swimmers toned muscled body type sometimes even gangly or flabby over the kinda looks like steroids and sometimes even chubby or lumberjack type. I can deal with kinda halfway bara like Giocatore, Hokaku Keikaku tho so i mean.... But that could def not be it as well. Idkkkkk
Well in my opinion it is about the content, since I've seen bara most often used in pornographic material. But I think that it is better than shota because they really have masculine forms and they really don't try to drag it down to a hetero level where one of them obviosly fills in the part of the girl. And isn't that part of the charm that there are no girls.

Eh, i don't really like the extreme baras in mangas but if they have an amazing plot then i wouldn't mind for example like Gengoroh Tagame sensei's 'What's inside the chest'.
