Throughout the entire read i had subconsciously compared this series to "How to Get My Husband on My Side" and "What it Means to be You" and though not as good compared to the series mentioned respectively, I still very much enjoyed this series and it brought real tears ! So if you enjoyed the series I compared it to i have no doubt you'll enjoy this one as well
SPOILER-RATING Overall rating would be a solid 8/10. Good art, the translation is good, quality is good, the story, plot wise, for me was alright. Even though the read through was very enjoyable there were scenes I skipped because it felt like it had no need to actually be there, specifically that pink long haired villain (i forgot her name) backstory, I was not intrigued by her character NOR her motives (tldr spoiler she really didn't have one she was just bored) so I thought it was a bit of a drag to read through it. The climax also was not that good, it did not carry through the resentment and anger that was told/reminded constantly for the mc to her brother, Owen. It fell short when it came to killing him, because for how much hype he got throughout the story about being a mastermind and cunning and old manipulative basted, he got defeated in like 3 panels. I also wish they went into more struggle with the mage that got brainwashed by Owen, we also dont really know how he got brainwashed or how the other two spirits for trapped to a contract with the Everettes family, among other details. These were all BRIEFLY mentioned (like one simple sentence worth of context) even though they were all major conflict points for the plot OH AND the other side characters (crown prince, jen the wind spirit guy, duke everette) were flat in terms of personalities, there barely had a motive or an actual trait that makes them more interesting (like the jen and crown prince guy were just 'silly, extroverted' people with no care in the world and nothing more) im bringing this up because the mentioned side characters are VITALS characters to the plot point for BOTH mc and ml, so it was a little disappointing for a 104 chapters series to have some flat characters. The romance DID carry the angst, how mc carried her emotions were really well expressed and justified so I think thats why thid story does carry that *gut punch* youre looking for. I thought the ending-epilogue chapters were well done, I LOVED the fact that this wasnt like "What it Means to be You" in the regards that this main couple decided to take ACTUAL time off from each other to heal/work on themselves individually instead of just forgiving and forgetting everything. Overall, its one of those series where you can sit down and enjoy it because as much as I am nitpicking on it right now, I was actually pretty on edge reading the whole thing BECAUSE of how well the mc's feelings were written Thats all thank you for coming to my tedtalk
