Yeah but that doesn’t mean anything. I know what happy endings are in BL. That doesn’t mean they will all heal and be good people. That’s not how it works and people don’t understand that. That’s why when the authors drop an ending, people get upset and they say “nothing go resolved” bc their ideas of happy endings are, more often than not, naive. This story is more complex than simple “rainbows and sunshine” happy ending.

If you all haven’t realized. The Lotus in this story is Changgeon. He’s the one who was able to survive in such a disgusting environment. This is HIS story. The heart of the lotus is the heart of Changgeon. We’re seeing how the trauma, his obsession and his desires manage to drive his whole life after being thrown in the mud since he was a toddler.
We’re probably never going to see him being completely sane bc it’s honestly IMPOSSIBLE given how he was treated, how he grew and having only ONE person he could trust his whole life. I think the story will take a turn towards Sam enabling Changgeon rather than helping him heal. Sure, the news of his daughter being alive WILL have an impact on their relationship. And even though we might be unable to guess the ending, hoping for a “redemption” arc like in Painter of the night, might be an idea you all have to let go of. Since this story has a more mature tone to it.
