no??? it's about me finding it stupid that people see "mafia yaoi" and expect it to be wholesome and fluffy and then getting upset that it's not. you have to be delusional to be actually upset at mafia yaoi having rape or blackmail in it.
it's not about realism on the story's part but realism in people's expectations
But you're basing what should be realism in ppl's expectations on realism in real life??? the whole reason you're like you can't expect there not to be rape in a mafia story is because it's about the mafia and that's based on what they get up to in real life. But doesn't make sense bc manga are never accurate about the mafia. There's literally loadsssss of manga with "wholesome" mafia storylines and no rape, they never go that deep into it, even the ones which do show murder etc
Hey stfu. It’s a fiction. It’s written by someone else form their imagination of what media depiction of mafia could be like. It’s someone else’s imaginary story. Even imaginary story only ever pick pieces in reality that the one imagining it want. So not it’s not that it’s should be realistic or whatever bs you pretend the op is saying. This story is written by the author the way the author intends it. The author can pick a chose whatever the hel they want. And the story isn’t even problematic cuz there’s no way you go read a r-rated story and think any of this is “realistic”.
The fact that people get angry that someone wrote this story the way it is is stupid. The irony is that these people chose to read a story that has mafia theme and also simultaneously have the expect it to not have risky themes. And being undeniable weak babies, they whine about it. It’s not about how realistic the story is. It’s about people not able to fucking jsut fuck off if they don’t like it. Fiction depicts certain realities. It is not a bibliography. No one thinks it is.
Ye... while the 'stfu' feels uncalled for, the person is making it difficult on purpose atp. When talking about realism, it is never "all or nothing". If one writes mafia or other risky themes, it is expected either more serious things or the mafious dude being yellow-to-black flag... while yeah, I get what they said about there being plenty of wholesome mafia mangas, I also agree with you that it shouldn't be a surprise if a manga that has a risky thematic shows gross content (blood, rape, death, etc)
I do think there should be more content warnings before we start reading a manga tho, just in case and because transparency is lovely

complaining about rape when this deals with mafia themes like... are we really expecting green flags in the fucking mafia
