Wow I didn't know being uncomfortable is wrong now? Just because I'm uncomfortable saying it? And hey stop assuming my age just because of something so low. I don't understand why does it bother u so much, especially when a lot of people in this world, and even in this website are using it. And pls shut up already. If there's a kid between us, it probably should be u not me.
I understand that you're uncomfortable saying the word, but this isn't a topic that should be made comfortable to talk about in the first place. It is SUPPOSED to make you uncomfortable because rape is an incredibly horrific thing. The discomfort comes from what the word represents, and that's not something we should try to soften. If you need to censor it because of filters, writing something like "r*pe" is completely understandable. But replacing it with or grape turns it into something that feels less serious than it actually is. I'm not implying that you're treating rape like a joke. I'm saying normalizing as a replacement slowly makes it feel less serious than it is. The more we replace words like this with emojis, the easier it becomes to distance ourselves from the reality behind them.
The word "rape" isn't the problem. The crime is. The word should reflect the seriousness of what it means, not be replaced with something that makes it feel easier or more comfortable to say. Because words are one of the few ways we can express the reality of something as horrific as rape. We have a responsibility to use them in a way that preserves the gravity of what we're talking about, not softens it. It's also worth thinking about what happens when people keep using or "grape" as a substitute. Over time, people start associating that word and emoji with rape instead of an actual fruit. Eventually, hearing or seeing "grape" will make people think of rape, even though it's supposed to be nothing more than the name of a fruit.
And "everyone else does it" has never been a good reason to keep doing something. Just because it's common doesn't mean it's good. Some words are meant to make you uncomfortable to understand the seriousness behind it, and rape is one of them. Trying to make it easier to say by replacing it with a fruit emoji only takes away from the gravity of what the word actually means.
Alright alright my mistake, I am very sorry. All I wanted to say that I am not very used saying "rape" so I thought the is a good substitute to it (usually using the word "r*pe". And it's my first time using that emoji as a substitute. Like literally. So thank u for explaining it very well, and I'm sorry again, didn't really want to argue more, I'm just really confused why is it a problem.
Experts will say to teach kids the proper names of body parts instead of the cutesy kid friendly words because hearing a kid use the proper terminology kills the fantasy for predators.
This is kinda the same idea. By not using the actual word, the word is losing effect. If people don’t want to use rape, they can use sexual assault/violence/attack which is an umbrella term, it doesn’t diminish the act.
Many people confuse sexual assault with rape, but whereas all rape is sexual assault, not all sexual assault is rape.

damn I like the story, but I hope there will be less like... They are cute.. And the trope? Hell yea! But come on...
