MC has a choice. Clearly. But so does ML. The ML knew bro was out too. ML is being catered to an uncommon degree and the MC is clearly holding back and burying all that hurt to be mindful of ML's needs. The way the author is painting MC as this near perfect person who only sleeps w guys because he's now scared of girls (wtffff not how any of this works), always understands the ML, is always happy, the hurt is processed somewhere where ML can't be touched by it - MC is completely abandoning himself in favour of ML, he literally asks for nothing he wants, he negotiates 0% of his own needs in that relationship, gets SAed and his concern is whether ML fought w his rapist friend. The ML normalizes this behaviour in the MC and encourages it. As a queer guy myself, this was a hard pass for me. It's not wrong to be closeted, but if you're dating someone who's out, then BOTH ppl need to be ready to make some concessions, not just one person fully abandoning themselves and adapting around the closeted one. Partnerships mean team work, as in everyone pulls their fckn weight accordingly

Okay, but on a serious note, I absolutely hate when closeted people try to drag a non-closeted person back into the closet with them. Im not saying closeted people don't deserve love, but either you need to come to terms with you being gay or find another person who's closeted to be in a relationship with, not somebody who's openly, happily gay. I also hated how the author was basically setting the MC up to get raped by that group of guys just because he was openly talking about having sex with men. the author made it seem like its wrong to be out, and if you talk about it you deserve to be raped???? Which is weird coming from a FKN BL AUTHOR...like wtf??? Also, the ML isn't even fucking worth it. I can understand you have a secret relationship with somebody who cherishes you and really loves and respect you. He literally raped the MC and acts like a fuckn robot half the time lol. I don't understand how people like this story, lol.
