Financial dependency will never be an attractive feature in a story for me. I’m fine with one character being rich, that’s all good, but if the other has no economic stability of their own, outside the influence or help of their partner, that’s a HUGE no. It creates a dangerous power imbalance. Money equals freedom, whether we like it or not. Take away freedom, and it’s no longer a healthy, balanced relationship. Connection gets replaced with dependency.

I’m having a FIELD DAY reading all these “shocked” comments about Tae-seo “suddenly” being toxic like… really??? At this point I don’t even know whether to blame it on the media literacy crisis or plain mass delusion. There hasn’t been a single moment where this man wasn’t a scarlet red flag. And you know why no one cared? Because he’s rich. That’s it. We’re in a recession, and financial stability is attractive, I get that. But if he hadn’t been showering Yeomin with gifts and “spoiling” him, the general opinion on him wouldn’t be nearly as positive. From the beginning he’s openly said (god I wish we could add screenshots) that he looks down on Yeomin, calling him “easy lay,” “naive,” “low maintenance,” and more. He literally SA’s him in chapters 23–24 and constantly ignores what Yeomin says or wants. Then there’s the money and housing situation...everything is about control. He wants Yeomin to have no one else to depend on, nowhere else to go, and even dictates how much time he spends outside and with who. If Yeomin were a woman, this would immediately be called out as abusive. And still SOMEHOW some people didn’t even notice the rape in earlier chapters like… ARE Y’ALL READING WITH YOUR EYES CLOSED? WHAT IS HAPPENING???
