this is one of the few pieces where i’m more than happy to wait for a next season or extended hiatus’. the artist deserves as much rest as they want. it’s that good.
i think the thing that will continuously
nag me about the storyline so far… is that they’re in an apocalypse… and for the most part its citizens are in a secluded safe haven. but they think they can overthrow those with that much physical power? and then do what? how would they protect themselves in the aftermath from others seeking out the same safe haven?
and even more so, the MC (as stupid and an unreliable narrator as he is), thinks he can “fool” him or be in any way effective in his and the hounds downfall? when he freaks out from one question and absolutely fumbles the most important lie he needs to maintain…

i understand why this is being called rape porn. i would be able to call it something else if it literally offered… anything else. but it doesn’t. we get small glimpses of the completely unhinged behavior from park, but not enough to really warrant all the advances that follow.
SPOILER: Because park is reenacting revenge from the trauma he experienced in middle school, i get that. to an extent. the plot hole that isn’t adding up for me is park throughout the whole series is acting as if things are being done to jiwoo that essentially have nothing to do with him. when he hired guys to gang rape him, it was though as if he wasn’t in the wrong, the guys who gang raped him were in the wrong. when he essentially kidnapped him and locked him up, and wasn’t his fault, it was jiwooks fault for running away.
but the crux is, he blames jiwoo for getting him assaulted in middle school. if he followed his own logic, it wouldn’t be jiwooks fault. but he can’t do this because as he hints, this revenge and how he’s goin about it is also a way to erase his own guilt from what he’s done.
but we don’t really see the further dive into either characters psyche. it remains just very visceral and unnecessarily long panels and chapters of repeated rapes.
with killing stalking, the author told their audience “this is not yaoi”, and they did that because it’s not based of any sexual act between the characters. but the psychological undoing of them over time. this is just yaoi with some psycho stuff blended in as an excuse.

is any one else sensing the hypocrisy? the townsfolk hate the leader and the hounds for their brutality, but are still massively benefiting off of them… from what we know, there is pretty much little to nothing else left in the world that functions as a city like the one they’re in. places outside could be better, but most likely are much much worse. also, why does the MC trust the doc and the woman so much? i wouldn’t trust anyone. but idk that’s just me

dropped at chapter 70, the whole “i’m not part of this world i want to go back” trope is eating away at my sanity. honestly i just find the FL kind of exhausting, she wants transparency with everyone, but doesn’t offer it and she constantly plays dumb about her feelings.
