Why was she in school uniform in the flashback? EYUCK!!!! dropped ngl I have my limits
Copied this from another user: ( SPOILERS!! )
- She was 21 and he was 24 when they married. She was 19 when she was summoned, just before her college entrance exam, that’s why she was in uniform.
Like what a previous post said, their time flows differently. Anna spent years at Lohengrin but her time resumed like nothing happened when she went back to her world. She literally came back at the same time she was transported. That’s why she doesn’t remember anything, and why she became a virgin again. It’s like her time in Roth’s world never even happened. The years spent in the other world was just like a blink of an eye in Anna’s world.
Cute but I did get the ick at ellin. No matter what the circumstances are that’s solhwas body, you can’t have equal claim. Whether you used it for a couple months or not. High key body horror for solhwa towards the end there.
I get what you mean but be fr it would make no sense to be like "ah yeah here have your body" back when she reached here by sheer will power and wanting to live. At least she was very honest and aware that it's selfish but wanting to do it anyway.
And What do we know? in the end even solhwa was a dead soul haunting that body.
Why’s she calling him kid just cuz he’s a bubbly 21 year old? When she’s only 3 years older??? If it’s cuz he acts like a kid (which he doesn’t) then why would she get with him lol???
idk if you've ever talked to someone in your 20's a few years younger- sometimes you really do feel the gap in age. Theres not a big difference, but you just pass each other getting out of those main development years its pretty common I would say. Maybe im just getting old though lol- plus its just a story but honestly it is a pretty real mindset plausable to have
Ah yes marry the older fat ugly man for “character”Men would never do this.
One shes prolly not gonna end up with the chancellor it's looking like the pathetic ml
Two she can be attracted to an older man who's fat and have interest in him as a partner while still being a okay character
Three saying the patriarchy will never be escaped comes off as disingenuous seeing as she's married to a pathetic waste of space who's using her and who quite literally said he hated her but you have no complaints about that. Only the old fat man who's been at the very least polite to her and who has more sense than her air headed husband.
You're calling her pathetic for thinking an old bald man is attractive and then basing your standards for women on what men would do, what is more of an indication of patriarchal society?
One of the main factors of patriarchy is literally marrying older men. It’s in undeniable fact. So is valuing woman’s beauty of her character. Women in the patriarchy are expected to not be “shallow”. Especially in media where it is common to see for the portrayal of the former than the latter purposefully.
So no calling out a common stereo Pryor in fiction where women get with the ugly chatacter is not “more likely” an indication of patriarchy. It would ignorant and disingenuous to assume so.
Between the two stereotypes of getting with an older man who others think is unattractive vs getting with a younger man who still isn't that attractive, who's pathetic and who treated her like shit id really rather she go with the older man who treats her well.
And generally in fiction women don't have a habit of getting with the "ugly" man i think you're letting your personal biases get in the way of your judgement and just saying ANYTHING.
Its way more popular for them to be with a conventionally attractive ml (even if the ml doesn't necessarily suit your/the readers tastes). Is the opposite a tropes? Yes. Is it as popular as a conventionally attractive ml definitely no. Especially on mangago.
Also I said what I said because you looked at a fictional woman expressing attraction for a man you don't find attractive and immediately went into berating her, calling her pathetic and said that men would never do that.
Some women just like ugly men. It's not a think piece on the patriarchy some ppl just like em a lil odd in the face.
The reason why I said you having that dialouge about in the way you did was contributing more to the patriarchy than her just expressing attraction not even acting on it really, is because a woman did something you disprove of and you immediately got to insulting her.
Calling it ignorant and disingenuous to think you're a bit of a misogynist is odd given your reaction
“Some women like ugly men”
So what? Doesn’t change the fact that the ugly guy gets the girl is a common trope reinforced by men in media and has affected a large portion of media. In fact so does the “older guy gets the girl” and so does “the plain boring guy gets the girl”.
Considering in media the ugly guy gets the girl is a legitimate COMMON trope which you have said doesn’t exist. I can now deduct the your whole arguement is untrustworthy. You are arguing just to argue at this point.
Also nice try trying to make the argument seem like something else so you can whine. No where did I insult the woman’s looks or character I simply said it a pathetic trope which is true. If you want to read fiction without thinking to deeply feel free.
Also just to finally add. You seem to be a choice feminists considering your points allude to the fact that because a woman can make these choices it’s inherintly feminist. Well Choice feminism isn’t real.
Just because someone is a woman doesn’t make their choices feminist nor exempt from criticism.
Fortunately there’s no woman character being criticised. Just a literary direction.
