I appreciate you saying this. Earlier I was feeling meh about the newest chapter but then I realized I was just looking for a specific energy between the characters that wasn't there this chapter. I actually went back and added to my comment because I do still think this is a pretty good and fun bdsm series and it doesn't deserve the harsh backlash it's getting today.
I think there's a lot of potential for the stuff I didn't love this chapter to become a really interesting part of the dom's character arc, which I would love. And if it winds up not being that, I still think this series respects BDSM/ kink and straddles the line enough between fantasy and reality to keep it fun and sexy for me personally.
Totally get if other people are turned off by that and none of this changes the fact that I will always, ALWAYS be here to educate people on healthy real life kink and navigating complicated bdsm dynamics. But I'm grateful for your little reality check and for getting me out of my own head enough to separate education brain from fun horny brain.

However I believe a comic site where we're reading stolen comics isn't the place to preach about "real bdsm" and use it to actively hate on and criticize a FICTIONAL work. We read fiction for entertainment, to feel something. Bending the rules to ramp up the emotions for fiction is fun. Plus the couple in the comic is 100% happy with everything being done, pre consent and "24hr access", tpe (total power exchange), those CAN make certain things okay in an irl dynamic that's still healthy. Not every dynamic is the same, I'm definitely not going to judge fictional characters for using and enjoying theirs.
Yup, I agree. We're on a pretty similar page. I mean, I know what I'd like to happen in this story as someone who lives the kink lifestyle and loves good storytelling and appreciates a series that teaches people accurate information about the topic it's on. I also have my own personal boundaries and preferences within my own kink dynamics that influence how I interpret certain things. But I recognize how all those things colored my judgment in an unfair way earlier. Especially for a place where most people just want to read some fun smut online.
I'm still gonna educate in the comments where people are curious or to correct misinformation cuz I think that's really important but I definitely want to approach it with a "real life and fantasy aren't the same, knowing how the real world stuff works matters but it shouldn't stop you from having fun and enjoying fictional content." pov. Asking questions and challenging your thoughts processes leads to better understanding and enjoyment. It's like Star Trek. It's great to see accurate info because that legitimacy makes it fun. But the wildly inaccurate science stuff is also a part of what makes it fun.

I'm glad too! Too many people are very black and white about the issue of fictional morals, and those who read stuff for fun. I've been in the community 15+ years, I've seen SO MUCH of a shift in knowledge and safety within the scene. I'm an educator at a national party, I'm a part of my local scene, I've made content. I'm also a writer and I love my comics, obviously. I know the line between rl and fiction explicitly well, and simply find it funny that so many people judge fictional characters by our irl rules specifically in the cases where both characters are happy and by all accounts healthy. Keep educating and keeping people safe, I'll keep helping them know it's okay to enjoy fiction without making themselves miserable lol

Right but at the beginning it was just sex until we got some more plot (have read dear door idk how many times and it’s still my favorite), clearly this one is more smut focused but we are getting bits of plot/lore and hopefully the Mc’s backstory in the next chapter. So far I think yeah half the chapters being smut isn’t the best for plot… but it’s also only 8 chapters and seems to be a much bigger story than just sex to get rid of plant the end. Could be wrong, hope I’m not.
