It's literally the only supernatural element to this comic, so it's still weird there. Plus feelings can need time to develop while he's, idk, HEALING while still being bothered and threatened by his non-ex ex. Ya'll expect too much of him. Cain doesn't, Cain has been patient until now. It's too much to expect from anyone, Cain's situation+abusive ex.
