So one way Grayson used to be punished by his father (Ashley) was that Grayson would be locked up too. So to Grayson, the kid being punished in this way is perfectly normal because it was done to him as well. And in Grayson's mind, helping the kid means staying with him while being punished.
Not to say that it isn't fucked up, but this is to explain why Grayson is the way he is. He suffered abuse but because he doesn't read emotions like others and because his childhood was not normal, Grayson sees the abuse as normal. It isn't until later that he actually gets the development he should have had as a child lol.
From what I hear this story is basically about that one annoying guy instead of the main couple. Honestly I hoped we would explore the age gap troubles more, like how they have different life goals and how they are in different maturity/life phases. Maybe we could've seen if they met each other's family or if either came out, something that's about them as a couple.
It makes me think that the author wanted to write another story half-way but couldn't just take a break on this story. And like I get it, but this story sounds like a mess compared to the original.
Do any of you know the name of a BL manga where the main character is a rival with the love interest because of their different skills in like 3d modeling. I think it's mostly one sided, but the MC does not like the Love Interest at the start. I think they might be in college and may have been working together in a group project. One thing I remember is how they showed one specific 3d model throughout.
Like this is just one of the many examples of who Grayson is. He cannot understand normal emotions. He can't understand why someone would fight so hard to save an animal, he can't understand the fear of dying in a fire, and he can't understand why Chase would fear losing control. It's not an excuse, but that's Grayson's reality and why a lot of people hate him, because he doesn't understand why his actions hurt someone or even hurt himself.
Spoiler warning ahead.
Ultimately, he's just someone who needs to learn to understand but he doesn't do it because he can't even understand WHY he would need to change. When he finally observes Dane and learns to change, he finally understands that he has to do things he may not inherently find necessary but that he cares about. That's when he finally jumps in to save Dane's cat, because Dane cares about his cat more than anything and Grayson cares about Dane at that point. That's why Grayson leaves when his deal with Dane ends, because he realizes that staying and doing as he wants won't fix his mistakes with others. That's why he finally feels fear later on, because he's learned to care and understand emotions.
The set up right now is that Cocaine is the only true healer among the group, the rest are just good singers who provide back-up vocals. Supposedly Cocaine killed the people in his home, then the doctors, and is the reason why all the singers have explosives.
In reality, Cocaine is only the healing type of singer. His story is tragic, with his older brother trying to protect him but his mother using him. However, Cocaine cannot kill with his power. There's some clues that show that Yaba is a healer too, but his healing is different. It takes a while for Yaba's voice to have impact, which is why no one realizes that Yaba is a healer until later when the brother's cancer is completely cured. But Yaba is not only a healer, he can kill with his voice as well. When Yaba and Cocaine are first castrated, Yaba is the one who screams and kills the doctors but because of the chaos of the day and their limited knowledge, everyone assumes it was Cocaine. This is why they are given the exploding chips, to ensure that they can quickly kill Cocaine and as method to threaten the singers into compliance. Yaba also believes this, as he wasn't aware that he could heal as well because of his backstory and his current abuse. Going back to Cocaine a bit, it is later revealed that Cocaine knows the truth and that he hides it for his own sake. Yaba's brother was the one who killed Cocaine's brother, mother, and the worshippers. When castrated, Cocaine was not within the screaming range of Yaba and was spared.
Yaba was mostly kept on because he was a witness and because he's pretty. The manager wants Yaba to himself, eventually wanting to own the club so he can care for Yaba on his own like a creep. Yaba was also assaulted many times when he was sent to be punished, resulting in him becoming suicidal and dangerous. It's mentioned that the singers can't cook for themselves because if they had knives or other tools, Yaba would try to kill himself. That's also why Yaba is given drugs, so that he does not want to kill himself - and because the manager wants Yaba alive to later own. Fortunately for Yaba, they don't know he's a healer that can also kill, because he might have been used to do worse things. Unfortunately, Yaba suffers a lot of abuse because he's only seen as a pretty face. And the other singers are aware that Yaba has been assaulted, but they still keep their distance from Yaba because he is unable to cope with his trauma in a healthy way. And Cocaine both envies and resents Yaba, because of how Yaba attracts people and because of their past together. Which is why he never reveals the truth, because that would make Cocaine less valuable and would spotlight Yaba.

Alright, I wasn't a fan of the ending because they didn't actually discuss things properly themselves. Two other ppl intervened (one was an asshole about it) and the final discussion wasn't actually about both of their feelings. It was just MC (alpha) confessing again, and apologizing, while ML(omega) still didn't directly actually say what he felt and thought - "I want to have both a career and family life with you, I actually love you but I don't want to lose my independence." It was more like "I almost forced you into something you didn't want and I am sorry about that, my desires are merely biology, and I just want to stay besides you even if you're lying to me." It was just the MC groveling.
Then the audacity to not show an actual resolution with the other actor - just a "whoops, sorry teehee." But whatever, the baby is cute and I will root for MC (alpha) every time! If there is a 2nd volume, I hope they actually resolve that communication stuff. Because if I had to beg you to tell me you love me after everything we went through, I would not actually trust that we would stay together forever. But that's just me lol
Contains Spoilers BTW (2nd paragraph)
So I got really curious and decided to look up the manga to see if there are raws available online for free - I didn't find any. So I searched up on the author's social media bc I am poor and can't buy the raws. I didn't get much info, but the next chapter is the last chapter of the story. I don't know if there'll be more. Also, there is no assault as far as I am aware.
Additionally (and this is a big spoiler), they don't become mates at the end. Also there's like three extra pages were the omega makes a move towards the alpha first, as in they discuss their issues by the end of next chapter and are moving forward. Don't ask about the in-between, I barely got any info in my search.
I'm not defending the MC(alpha), but I sort of get where he's coming from ONLY bc the ML(omega) doesn't communicate either. Imagine you get into a contractual marriage with mostly just the plan to have a kid, you have the kid, and then you're just kind of left hanging despite actually trying to make the relationship work. Then your partner, whose family would be fine with just taking the kid and divorcing, starts to hide things from you, secretly leaving and sneaking around. I would also worry that my partner is going to just leave one day, since there's nothing connecting us (not even the kid since I have been shown to not be needed).
This of course doesn't mean the MC is justified in trying to force a bond, that's still something they need to discuss in a calm manner. But the ML also refuses to say anything concrete. He did make his intentions known about acting, but from the outside it really only looks like he's tolerating his husband. And like he said, if he goes to his family, they'll just help him get divorced and keep the kid. It wasn't until you get into the ML's head that you actually get that he likes the MC. He's like "oh I want to get a bigger kitchen for MC when I'm successful" and "I want both an acting career and to have my husband by my side" but he doesn't actually say that to him. He has said that to two people, neither of which are his actual husband. Again, the ML is not wrong to leave and want space, because trying to force things isn't okay ever. But that lack of communication is their biggest problem, mostly because it seems both don't want to trouble the other.
Unlike others on here, my guess is that the younger actor is basically going to say too much - something like, you don't deserve ML and you shouldn't get in the way of his success. But of course because the young actor doesn't know the entire situation, he's not going to actually explain anything in a proper way. And I'm assuming that the MC will ask for a divorce instead, bc he's going to think that he's just an obstacle that needs removing. Based on how the story is going and the emphasis on the ML wanting both his acting career and family, they're going to have the classic "I'm leaving so that I don't hurt you" misunderstanding. This will probably lead them to actually talking because the ML will finally decide to confront the MC and will basically try to reason with MC as a couple (and not just as a contractual couple).
The whole mother subplot is not even necessary. Whether you like the mother or not, that subplot was super underdeveloped and made no sense with the overall story. This story is supposed to be about Byul, and while I understand that the grandma could be a part of his story, that would require addressing what happened since the original story. But all we get is, Dojin helped the her and Byul secretly meets her - and she doesn't appear again. If she was going to be a story arc, Fargo should have used the grandmother more. Maybe have Byul talk to her more about his problems and actually show she has changed, maybe have her actively try to contact Hyesung throughout the story, maybe have Hyesung actually briefly meet his mother but still have tension between them. This can all build up to the final meeting where Hyesung finally confronts his mother about why she abandoned him. Also, there should have been a confrontation. Even if they reconciled, it would make sense to address this plot point now and then actually rebuild the relationship. At this rate, the story will either keep dragging this arc for longer or it will just skip over it and show them happy without discussing the past.
I just think the worst part about the mother is not that she gets a second chance (realistically it could work in the hands of another writer) but that there is zero build up. We don't see her again despite making a big deal about her abandonment of her son and the secret meetings with Dojin and Byul. If we saw the build up, I could at least understand why the arc happens even if I dislike the mother. But with is coming out of nowhere, it just feels empty and like the story is being rushed along to a happy ever after despite its flaws. People are already willing to forgive much of the story, but the poor writing choices here are really showing the story's flaws for the future.

So I follow the author's 2 twitter accounts, and it's possible that one reason we haven't gotten the sequel is because the author has been working on another comic. The author has another story that hasn't been translated, and I don't know much about it tbh, and I thought they weren't working on it anymore. However, recently I saw them draw something celebrating the ending of that comic. This may mean that we haven't heard of Nanbaka's sequel because the author has not only been selling at cons (both merch and art), but they have also been working on their other comic on their own website - taking up a lot of their time.
Ultimately, the sequel will come but we don't know when and I'll be sure to update again when it returns.
Does anyone know the name of a korean reincarnation story about a girl who specifically is reborn in a Korean-style world. A big part of the story is that the world is super patriarchal but the MC wins the love of the emperor/king, and she basically starts breaking rules about where women can go in life (specifically in education). I know it sounds generic lol, but it's an old story from when the whole reincarnated princess thing began.
Literally dropped this story bc I disliked that glasses chick so much! I cheered knowing she's not dating Chowon's daughter! Lol
