No, you not being active on mangago had nothing to do with your stories getting erased. It happened to all of us back in January. Mangago's data disk crashed. Only stories you have rated and/or tagged were recovered, nothing else did or will come back. All retrieved stories were dumped into your "Already read" list, you have to manually re-add them back where they were pre-crash. You can start rebuilding your lists now.

generally, if you want to see melanin in bl, the grand majority of the time the options are:
~exotic~ racially ambiguous/nebulously middle eastern/Pacific islander (rarely, the character's ethnicity will be specified),
or east Asian and artificially tanned (gyaru style),
or east asian and tan from being outside all the time/athletic,
or occasionally east Asian and just naturally darker/tan. I can share some of those, too.
