I love our Ruby obviously, but I can't help but to feel bad for the OG Ruby or generally in these stories, I feel very bad for the OG characters before they get possessed by someone else (Usually that's why I prefer reincarnation instead of Isekaid).
Especially because OG Ruby seemed to be in love with Iske and vise versa as well. Im not saying that our Ruby took Iske from OG Ruby but in some way I always ask myself if things didn't turn the way they did (or in another life) OG Ruby was allowed to have a happy life with the man she loved instead of forever disappearing, giving everything she has to someone else. If you get what I mean( ´Α`)
I totally agree! It leaves my heart aching when I know OG Ruby will always be dead, and has no opportunity for true redemption(?) And happiness. Especially now knowing she was so desperate to reverse all her mistakes and save her loved one's lives with her own I also feel for our FL because she most likely won't return to her own timeline to find growth and happiness in her OG body!! If only it had a modern arc at the end
Oh my god I always think this but especially here!! The amount of abuse and suffering OG Ruby also went through only to end in a horrible death at the hands of someone she could have loved ;-; Obviously I want our Ruby to live happily with Iske, but I wish OG Ruby could have lived a peaceful life and healed..
There’s a theory that Og Ruby and current Ruby are the same, it’s like Penelope’s situation from villains are destined to die if you know. In the novel og Ruby looks at our Ruby and says “You are me” and then our Ruby wakes up suddenly. Author left this to our imagination and interpretation. I believe these two are the soul.
I've always found it obvious that OG Ruby and our Ruby are the same soul. She really messed up in the 1st life so she had to suffer in her 2nd (losing her sister like Iz lost his & having a miserable life while never feeling as if she belonged) now her 3rd life is still a shitty start but the knowledge she retained is the true blessing here. So I've never once thought that there were 2 different Rubies. It just doesn't make sense. Now, if her second life was peachy, then that'd be different. Then I could see she's a new Ruby. Even if the creator told me they're two different people then I'd have to argue that she changed her mind towards the end because all Ruby's becomes meaningless if they are two different souls. (=・ω・=)
Yea exactly! Them being the same soul makes so much sense and it just shows that Izek loved the same soul in every timeline, and also explains Ruby having no holy power because the one from the first time ran out of it while stealing the holy grail and then made a wish to turn back time and to save her loved ones, they’re the same soul idc
//These are literally just thoughts that I want to share
So, Im on chapter 13 now, I found out about the story through Instagram seeing the artist page.I was almost expecting this kind of quality, but due all the respect she's amazing for even drawing all that. And I won't be criticizing the art just because its already impressive enough to do all that.
But its the story that's iffy ig? It's.. uh average? Spiceless? I mean it's build on clichés and feels like a copy mash up version of various cliché Manwhas.
Yk like someone who only read those type of stories and felt like writing their own version of it, but just doesn't know how to make it special or remarkable. It reminds me a little of myself when I tried to write my own stories on wattpad at the age of 13.
You can tell that author has little experience and knowledge about storywriting. The pace is pretty fast, there's no time to take in the little bit of characterization that we get (since characterization is already pretty dull/small).
The characters action feel sometimes very unbelievable or unnatural, which is why the chemistry also feels a little forced.
There are enjoyable bits in the story but it's overall pretty corny and heavy on clichés (even though she tries to make fun of them from time to time or giving it a twist).
I feel like it's still kind of fun to read BECAUSE its so corny and cringe and you can't help but want to know how the author will continue this, even though I'm pretty sure the author's intention was not this at all. I mean I guess that's what makes it so cringe/corny bc as a ready you can kind of tell that author tries very hard rn to make this or that scene serious and packed with emotions.
Okay EDIT: AFTER reading chapter 28 I admit the story definitely got more death and has actually very touching elements and bits. I need to give credit where credit is due.
My points still stands though that the execution and pace is still iffy but damn there was improvement! Also the uncensored smut was a bit surprising (in a good way?)
