yeah, sometimes, your brain tends to block sad emotions to protect itself or it could be bc of shock too. it's better to let some time pass to process and come to terms with everything.
it's wrong to stop yourself from feeling negative emotions too tho. if you bottle it up, it'll probably end in a mental breakdown or you'll start to shut yourself in.
so, venting your negative AND positive emotions in a healthy manner is necessary to maintain your mental health
