literally that is so true. i feel like everyone ignores the psychological, well written aspects of the book and only reads it because they think a character is hot. like, its just so annoying. i never see comments under here anymore talking about how well written it is, or theories. i only see "Omg daddy seongmin jerk off to me", especially with the new chapter. ik my name doesn't save my case, i honestly did that as a joke. but its so funny cuz literally i was telling my mom this yesterday. this is why i didnt want this book to go that mainstream since i knew there'd be fans like this

I understand your point but also you're not really starting any meaningful discussions either. I think at this point everyone knows this is good and we're just enjoying the story. Constantly just commenting "this manhwa is so good, the plot is so good" would be repetitive esp this far in. Also, like I said, you're just saying this manhwa is a good physcological manhwa and not really much else...seems like you don't really have anything to say except complain either. It got popular on TikTok through thirst-trap edits of Seongmin, and a lot of people started picking it up because of those edits. Not that it wasn’t already popular, but that’s where the influx of comments thirsting over him is coming from. However, I barely see people justifying these characters’ actions bc they find them attractive… If you want to start a discussion, then just start one instead of expecting others to do so, because people read these stories for different reasons, regardless of genre.
Mind you, I’m reading plenty of comments discussing the chapters with theories, parallels, and/or analyzing the characters. Yet you decide to focus on the ones not doing that! Just say you wanted and excuse to hate on “yaoi fan girls”
Pretty sure that’s exactly my point man. Hating on yaoi fangirls. I can start a discussion, or read other’s discussion like exactly you did. And pretty sure most of the seungmin fan girls find him hot and doesn’t even find him disgusting. Both in the comment here and ig reels(since I don’t use TikTok) I’m sure you’ve come across those type of people too. Me not starting a discussion doesn’t contradict my point. My point is to hate on those people who don’t appreciate it enough. Yea, I may lack the enthusiasm and skills to actually express my theories and discussions, but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy that aspect very fondly.
People are allowed to read stories and interpret however they want, yea. But the interpretation shouldn’t be the point that it contradicts and overrides the original message. There should be a very clear line between liking a character, finding them attractive and wanting to read it— to overlooking the depth of the story just so they can talk about how hot the character is. As a fan of psychology, it pisses me off, it’s only natural for me to want the core and depth of the story to be more popular than surface level of how hot the character is.
