Shuu is such a tsunder omg, what a lovely way to start the year of our lord 2021. There's a reason why I keep coming back to this genre. Idk, it's too wholesome! too sweet!! and just the whole thing felt like a warm hug, what a kind story. I hope to support the author asap, they're incredible. I would give up a kidney for a sequel i swear.
oh, sorry for this late reply!! I haven't read much in this genre yet, but some of the ones that have absolutely melted my cold dead heart:
http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/bokura_no_shokutaku/
(pure wholesomeness!! both guys are in their early twenties with their own set of problems to deal with, but oh my god did i die reading this. it's so cute i want to bite my fist)
http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/hidamari_no_orange/
(there's just the tiniest bit of teen angst, but it's understandable in the context of the story and the characters are really precious, i just want to wrap them in warm blankets and make them hot chocolate)
http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/ganbare_nakamura_kun/
(this is more of a character study. the mc is a gay teen crushing hard on his classmate and falling into all kinds of awkward situations. it's funny as hell, bubbly and sweet. it doesn't end in a romance but still this story is such a treasure. you can safely recommend it to anyone, really.)
http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/hare_no_hi_asada_nemui/
(it's bittersweet but also kind. it carries an important message. it's beautiful, i can't find words for it.)
http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/yozora_no_sumikko_de/
(this one has angst as well! the characters are working adults who reunite 11 years after high school. one of them has a kid so keep that in mind if you're not into those kind of storylines, but my god, the art is beyound stunning (in my humble opinion), it's poetic in a way and the kid is stubborn and adorable. it's my all time personal fave so obviously i'm biased, but i earnestly implore you to give it a chance.)
http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/kasegimasen_kara/
(yes an omegaverse, not it's not trashy and there's no smut. a more accurate description would be: shoujo, but make it gay, if that makes sense. all that to say, it's cute and the characters act their age. would definitely recommend)
I'm still exploring this genre so my repertoire is quite lacking. Hopefully next time i'll come with more recommendations. Until then, happy reading! (sorry for the long reply (=・ω・=)
What the hell this was so good, it's dark and fun(?) and the world is very twisted like the demons themselves. they're not shy about being wicked and wretched and i really appreciated that. The art is stunning, even the gory bits leaned more on the gorgeous side, i mean yes it's messy and the imagery can be strong but i couldn't tear my eyes away. this was so up my alley i wish i could get my hands on the physical copy.
(makoto terrified so many times ouufff can't wait to see what he'll become. Also, a huge boobed demon?? sign me up!!! it's hell, who cares about gender)
please don't roast me for this, i'm genuinely trying to figure out my feelings for taesung but guys, doesn't he feel a little one-dimensional. his whole character is centured around haebom, since he literally was a kid. haebom this, haebom that. he went to the same college because of haebom. he only decided to mend his relationship with his mother because of haebom. he had so many reasons not to forgive her but he still did it because haebom wanted it.
he breathes haebom and his world is haebom, which is all good and i'm fine with that but come on, i need more nuance to this character, i need to care, he's the second main character yet everything about him feels so empty he could easily blend in with the white background and nothing would feel amiss.
no offense to any fan of course, i do see potential but i really wish the author invested more into taesung's relationships with other people, his ambitions, his interests, his fears (other than losing haebom). friendships and family bonds are just as important as romantic ones. haebom is a lot more interesting because he has a significant other he cares about, he has a deceased family he still loves dearly, he has the mom who raised him as her own son, he has friends from college and a career he strives to excell in. He has taesung's dad who nags at his mind because of the fear of rejection. there's so much to him and it's sad i can't say the same about the second most important character in this story. it does not feel balanced at all.
again, please don't feel offended. you're so valid if he's your favorite. still i would love to hear your guys' opinion on taesung and why you love him so much, maybe i could be convinced to see him in a new light. thank you.
you right tbh it's like he doesn't have a life of his own
Harada's works fck me up yet i still come back to them. i kinda had a panic attack reading this because it's too realistic and too true to some lived experiences so please keep that in mind for any new readers out there. it's not bl, it's more exploration of child sexual abuse and sexual trauma and the psychological consequences it has on you for life. it's written to give you a profound sense of sickness because everything that happens is so, so wrong. It's twisted and uncomfortable and the author isn't shy about it and i think in a way that makes it its own strength.
You can experience this on your own but i still would never recommend it to anyone who's sensitive to such subjects. It's too real it hurts. It really hurts.
okay i always knew that heesoo is an amazing character (and the only reason why i kept reading this story in the first place, please don't tell), but that was such a mature response to someone who's hurt him really bad wowowow.
like at this point i don't even hate chowon, decent character development is always welcomed, but i also don't think he deserves forgiveness from the people he harmed just because he's shown deep remorse and regretted his absurd cruel actions after the quite eventful change of heart.
yes, i do believe he deserves a second chance,
but i also hope he does even more self reflecting on the basis of the belief that his actions were wrong and not because kyungsoo's reaction to the truth kickstarted this regret, if you know what i mean. frankly speaking, kyungsoo could really do better, chowon's earlier treatment of him was not okay, but oh well, the heart wants what it wants.
anyways, apologizing was definitely the right thing to do since it probably chipped at his huge pride, the concept of humility is very foreign to him and we can see that clearly in this chapter. heesoo's words are actually really kind if you read closely into them. though not in a necessarily straightforward way, he did indeed grant chowon forgiveness and maybe some peace of mind. i don't think i could forgive someone who nearly had me raped and humiliated because of petty jealousy. i'll get them in jail.
oufff, sorry i had a lot to say.
(that chin grab was heesoo's way of asserting dominance. i love him sm)
I love how everyone forgave Heeso so fast after he manipulated Hyesung straight after giving birth when he was most vulnerable. He then lied to Hyesung and Dojin for months. He lied to Hyesung about Dojin keeping the baby, he let Dojin suffer thinking Hyesung had just left. All because he was possessive of Dojin and didn’t think Hyesung was good enough. We forgave other characters for terrible things but for some reason Chowon is the exception?
Speaking of apologies, how about Dojun apologizes to Chowon for the years of apathy and neglect?
The way Heeso grabbed him was gross and petty ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
what are you talking about? chowon literally stalked, kidnapped people and terrorized them because of his obsessive personality. not to mention his very crappy attitude.
though not in the best way, heesoo still provided hye sung with shelter when the latter was so dead set on leaving even though he just gave birth. heesoo wanted hye sung to take responsibility and raise his child but hye sung did not desire to stay.
keeping the truth from dojin and feeding them both lies was definitely shitty, not gonna deny that, but i do think he had no malicious intent. hye sung was too vulnerable to be on his own. heesoo manipulated him to stay with him until they figured out a solution. he respected hye sung's wishes not to tell dojin about any of it.
even so, when the truth finally unveiled, he agonized for so long for hurting his best friend, please just read back on some old chapters. i'm not excusing his behavior, but it's still nowhere close to what chowon did. unless you think stalking your ex's lovers is an okaish thing to do then i don't know what to say.
chowon does deserve an apology from dojun, but keep in mind that only the families and chowon wanted this union. he was too obsessed with this idea of marrying a hot rich and dominant alpha male. (what an irony that kyungsoo is a beta)
also, i don't see anything gross about that grab. please explain it to me.
Say it louder! Heesoo nearly killed Hyesung and Dojin. What he did was by far the worst in this story. He never apologize to them either and people just forgive him like nothing happened. When it comes to Chowon, the standard got so high all of the sudden. I understand that Heesoo doesn’t need to accept his apology, but the way he grabbed Chowon and looked down on him was pitiful. To the point of bragging about somebody who asked for forgiveness pathetically was unnecessary.
Currently reading this for the first time (chapter 17) but I still felt the need to say that Taemin is such a breath of fresh air. He's mentally and physically strong, and though his whole life is struggles and hardships he perseveres and doesn't give in to despair (his dream was literally to go to school, like that broke my heart). He's so snarky and fiendish when it comes to the bullies and he roasts people back no matter how disadvantaged he is. It's incredible. I admire him so much, and I'm pretty sure I'm alone in this, but it almost feels like he could be real, like his existence is beyond the fictional realm.
Anyways, sorry for blabbering, back to reading (Woojin terrifies me, I'm not joking)
I can't remember the last time i've experienced this intense burst of butterflies in my stomach. I've read so many smutty mangas but i've never squealed this hard oh my god, when they kissed!!!!!!! I ascended. It's so HONEST and INNOCENT and sincere. We deserve more stories like this, god. Please if anyone knows stories similar to this, recommend me your faves. I'll be eternally grateful, I'll worship your name, thank you.
Karoru literally had a panic attack when Hara's string connected, the trauma from being abandoned not once but twice by a loved one affected him so much he could no longer bring himself to connect with someone on a deep level, friend or otherwise. i don't understand why some readers are so mad with him, please understand where he's coming from. He probably suffers from abandonment issues

Look, I understand where he's coming from, I understand the desperation of wanting to break free in a world that wishes you obliterated just because you were born into a certain race where your ancestors messed up bad. I sympathize with it all. But is it really the answer? Is mass scale genocide really the answer Eren? Bad apples are eveywhere, no nation is exempt, but can that truly justify wiping out billions and billions of honest lives in horrid fucked up ways because the ones in power won't listen. Are all options exhausted? Are human lives worth that little? Are we worth so little to get trampled on to death? I can't fathom it and I'll never get anyone who's actively pro rumbling. Sure it's just fiction, a dark fantasy, grim and gory, but the realism has always been a strong element in this story, the characters have always felt dynamic and real. It's sad that this is the conclusion we've reached. Seeing clueless civilinans (especially kids, ohmygod) perishing in horrid deaths will never cease punching me in the guts.
Honestly, at this point I'll just cling to the characters that are still alive and mentally prepare myself for the ending. I know I'll cry either way (yes I'll also cry if Eren dies). Levi and Reiner are probably next to die (gosh i'll WEEP when that happens), maybe Connie too now that Sasha is gone ;-; I have hope that Jean, Mikasa and the kids will make it through. Annie and Pieck are shifters so I'm nervous how that'll go.
Armin's fate is hard to predict. It's gonna be agony for me anyways since he's my favorite character.
All that to say, I'm very frustrated with how this is going. I'm filled with dread everytime I open a chapter. Like THEY ALL FOUGHT SO HARD TO REACH THE OUTSIDE WORLD AND FOR WHAT, to destroy it with all its beauty and cruelty.
Call me an idiot idc, but genocide is not and will never be the answer, not when it breeds so much grief and misery.
As much as we see mass genocide not being the "correct answer", it does not eliminate itself as an answer. Our ethical and moral reasoning has shaped our understanding to reach a conclusion that destruction to man kind is not the most reasonable option, but! we cannot really disregard that they live in an entirely different world, and that they have been molded by their external environment differently.
Their battle have reached an impasse, there is no good or bad guy in war, they all fight for their own beliefs and selfish or selfless desires. And Eren who was pushed, pulled, in so many directions to what is right or wrong, who is the enemy or victim, has greatly affected his moral compass, and so he reached a conclusion and acted upon his decision no matter how unjustified it may be to our own moral belief.
If you feel such strong emotions for their fate, it just proves how much of a master piece this isヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
Only the rumbling can solve Eren’s goals. That being said, his dream of absolute freedom is not only something impossible and selfish but also self destruction. In fighting for that freedom he has become the most enslaved.
Genocide is not the answer, even Eren knows it himself. Using destruction to stop the cycle of hate just beget a new one (not to mention it’s very immoral).
I think Eren will die, I mean it’s a little obvious. I feel like Mikasa and Armin have a chance, especially since they represent the beauty and hope/dream of humanity (while Eren more so represents the courage, and then later- desperation/cruelty). Also bcuz “to save Mikasa and Armin”
Gabi and falco will probably live, they’re the new generation, and their character arcs (overcoming hatred and racism) is a powerful one.
Reiner is in the middle of his redemption arc, he might live or die as a hero. Levi had a huge death flags.
as much as we hate genocide. i think that even if the rumbling succeeded and eren dies, there will still be wars between eldians and marley. if u have noticed, they are being under attacked and marleyans still pointed a gun to the eldians.
yes ik. But i dont think the rumbling will succeed, and aot is about breaking the chains. Somehow or another history will stop repeating. But who knows how this is gonna end
its alrdy obvious it wont succeed lmao
