yeah sure he's a little dense, but that jealousy is not rooted in his boss or his own actions, but in minato's experiences and huge insecurities.
minato is triggered here by shizuma SMILING at his boss. that's unhealthy and unreasonable. he didn't bring the boss to the date, he caught a ride from work, the work with the same boss, minato is aware of that lol. going out of his ways to not interact with the boss is not a healthy boundary, it's monopolising shizuma. the boss hasn't done anything yet that makes hard boundaries necessary. and they also know shizuma has a lover, which is def. setting the most important boundary. the boss is only a catalyst for the insecurities minato has anyway.
even if shizuma would try to accommodate minato more (and he does try), the jealousy would not stop. now he's jealous of the boss, despite shizuma not showing any interest, but eventually minato would be jealous and insecure of someone or something else. it doesn't serve a relationship by giving into your partners insecurities, because nothing you do will make them truly less insecure unless they work on the issue. shizuma can't stop being bi, and shizuma shouldn't feel like he has to change who he is (friendly) to appease his partner's jealousy either.
and before judging so hard, ppl may wanna read the next chapters where both minato and shizuma explain and explore their issues (heads up, minato knows he's a lot) and it's definitely NOT minato giving into shizuma like another commenter here claims. relationships take 2 and this situation isn't black and white, ironically shizuma and minato are more aware of that than the comments.
(i also hope some of you guys have higher standards for your own relationships geez, if your partner would want you to change your workplace or would want you to never smile at others like that, that's unreasonable af.)

Well, just like how insecurity is Minato's flaw, naivety and being too kind are Shizuma's. What she did can actually be considered a sexual harrassment, but he probably didn't think anything of it and let it pass through his mind. Sometimes people like that can't see that they're wronged until someone else points it out. Even then they still try to think positively at times because they just don't want to think badly about others, and prefer to blame themselves instead. We can see that Shizuma is that kind of person by how he tolerate his cheating ex and even how he quickly forgave Minato for turning his feelings into a bet. He blamed himself for Yuka cheating on him, and as soon as he heard about the reason for Minato's bet, he blamed himself too. That's just how he is. The same flaw that made Minato insecure is also what brought them together in the first place. Both of them have flaws, as any other people in the world, and they need to work it out together.
Well, here's a different perspective from me. Minato is being unreasonable, that is true. But if you remember the whole story from the very beginning, Minato has serious trust issue due to his father's infidelity and abandonment to his mother, which in turn cause their whole family into a trainwreck. His insecurity is not coming from a random place, it was rooted deep inside of him. Even years of therapy and medication wouldn't make that kind of PTSD magically dissapear. Please cut the guy some slack. He's learning to be a better person albeit slowly. But even people without that kind of trauma would find it hard to not be consumed by jealousy and misunderstanding sometimes, let alone someone like Minato.
Obsessive jealousy is toxic and it will ruin a good relationship. But the reason why Shizuma has been so understanding and empathetic to Minato (despite him being insufferable sometimes) is not because he doesn't have a standard in his relationship, but because he knows Minato is still learning to love and to trust again and Minato never have malicious intent towards him. Minato loves Shizuma very much, and Shizuma knows that.

If you ever find the time, I hope you take a look at it, it's a beautifully written, addressing why majority of people support minato and the real issue in this relationship.
Nobody said Shizuma has to stop being friendly. There’s a difference between being friendly vs trying to please using unnecessary words such as the time when Shizuma COMPARED Minato to the boss, about how the boss’s social skills are more pleasant than Minato. He didn’t need to say that at all. It’s not helping. I get that he’s trying to please the boss but he didn’t have to. He’s a worker, he should stay work related.
Those are boundaries he needs to set. Work friends are fine but never try to compare your partner to a stranger, it’s rude and unnecessary, although I understand Shizuma was trying to be nice. He went too far.
Minato himself is aware of his childish antics, that’s why he’s trying to repress those feelings. And Shizuma told him in future chapter to be more selfish with him since Minato is being selfless more than asking for what he wants Shizuma to do.
Trauma isn’t easy to overcome and had he heard Shizuma comparing him with someone else, that would’ve probably turned for the worse. Shizuma has a big flaw which is not making boundaries, it’s also said in the future chapter that he’s way too nice for his own good.
And I agree that it’s toxic to not want your partner to express emotions to others like smiling etc. but I doubt Minato really wants that to happen, it’s his trauma that’s making him like that. I’m sure Minato wants to see Shizuma happy. But his insecurities rooted from trauma is preventing that, hopefully they work it out.
And Shizuma being happy about him being jealous is NOT a good thing. that’s quite disappointing of him.
why are people always complaining about readers and their stereotypes for fictional characters in fictional stories that do enforce those stereotypes 99% of the time lol??
in the yaoi world, not the real world, they exist and are totally valid because in 90% of cases the smaller one bottoms, so readers will expect it to be that way (whether they actually are into cliché bottoms or not), just like reverse stories with buff bottoms are super obvious by the way they act and look, and mostly work because it's "reverse". nothing to reverse if the opposite doesn't exist.
it's especially ironic when a lot of stories, this one probably included, play with those stereotypes, which they couldn't do if readers didn't have those expectations.
so stop attacking the readers for assuming what is, in most cases, true, or for having their preferences. they have sex in multiple chapters, it's fair to not be into that with a dynamic one doesn't like. rl couples have nothing to do with yaoi stereotypes anyway..and ppl claiming all gays are switches in real life can argue that out with the actual real gay only tops and bottoms, not on this website under a webtoon.
